Top 5 Under Counter Freezers

Independently reviewed. Perfectly priced.

A deserving winner! This stylish freezer from Lec is an excellent alternative to white and will look great in a darker kitchen. With an A+ energy rating it'll cost just £21 a year to run. You'll save around £36 per year in comparison to an equivalent 12 year old model, so it's great if you're upgrading. It's even sponsored by the Energy Saving Trust, so you know you're getting an efficient appliance.

Inside you've got an 83 litre capacity spread over 3 drawers. They've all got clear fronts so you can see what's inside without having to rummage around.

What's great about this model is the reversible door. You can change the hinges round to suit your kitchen layout without having to worry if it will intrude.

If you’ve a bit more money to spend, this under counter freezer from AEG is brilliant. It’ll hold up to 80 litres of space over 4 clear drawers that allow you to see what you’ve got without having to open them. This helps you save energy too.

What's really great is that it’s frost free and the extra money also gets you a display panel which tells you what temperature it is inside the freezer. You can amend how cold the freezer is here too, as well as activating the Frostmatic setting. Similar to the fast freeze on my number 1, it rapidly reduces the temperature to freeze newly introduced food as quickly as possible. The door is reversible and it has an A+ rating for energy efficiency for energy efficiency, so it won’t cost you very much to run either.

This freezer from Beko isn't all singing, all dancing, but if you're after something simple, it's spot on. The best thing about it is the fact you can keep it in your garage or outhouse as it’ll still work in temperatures as low as -15°C, so it’s great if you’re short on space in your kitchen.

It gives you 85 litres of space, so it's a really good size and there are 3 compartments, all of which have clear drawer fronts. This means no more digging through your frozen goodies to find what you're after as you'll be able to spot it without opening the drawers.

It doesn't have the frost free technology like some of the others, but if you don't mind defrosting once in a while, I don't think it's a problem when you consider how great the price is. It's A+rated for energy efficiency, so it'll be really cheap to run too. You'll also be doing your bit for the environment!

The super fast freezing section is brilliant. Hit this when you want to freeze your leftovers and it'll rapidly reduce the temperature in the top drawer. This will help lock in nutrients and texture so your food tastes as good as fresh.

With a classic white design, this Beko isn’t breaking any design boundaries but then it doesn’t need to when it’s taking such good care of your frozen food.

It’s got 75 litres worth of usable storage space inside which is a great amount for anyone living by themselves.

That storage space is broken down into 3 different storage compartments; 2 drawers and 1 pull-down spot at the top. They’re all a similar size so you don’t have to faff around figuring out where to put what and the pull-down area also acts as a fast freeze zone.

This nifty little feature is brilliant when you’ve just been shopping or can’t quite tuck away all your dinner. It works at lower temperatures to quickly freeze food which helps to lock-in nutrients and flavours too.

Never worry yourself about chipping away at ice again either as this freezer is frost free. It’ll never let ice even think about forming which means it uses less electricity to run and saves you money in the process too.
