Washing Machines

cleaning-fact-3

In the UK we use a massive £2 billion worth of electricity by using washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers every year.

Richards tip

Sometimes, you really do get what you pay for, and I believe that the Samsung ecobubble is well worth the money. You get an A+++ energy rating, so after a short period of time, it’ll practically have paid for itself anyway. Not to mention the fact that it’s really quiet, so you won’t have to crank the volume on the TV up when the washer starts to spin.

Samsung have clearly been thinking big. The Samsung ecobubble WF1124XAC washing machine is one of Samsung’s newest endeavours. It boasts the biggest drum on the market at a whopping 12kg, which will hold up to an impressive 60 t-shirts, offering plenty of room for even the biggest of families.

The ecobubble uses bubble technology to get the results of a 40°C wash while only heating the water to 15°C. It saves you both time and money by creating a pillow-soft layer of bubbles to soak your load up to 40 times faster. As the detergent and water is so thoroughly mixed, it can get to work really quickly and gives you fantastic results with every wash.

It also features a brushless inverter motor and the VRT load balancing system, which can pretty much get rid of any vibration, excess noise and movement. This makes it the perfect machine if you enjoy open plan living, so your television watching won’t ever be interrupted by a washing machine jumping around your kitchen.

For those lighter days, Samsung have equipped the WF1124XAC with a half load option so you can put a smaller load in and you can expect the exact same wash results.

If price is an issue or the design doesn’t suit, there are other substantial drums out there. Hotpoint, Whirlpool and LG all make various 11kg models.

So, let’s see who’s the first to bring out a 13kg drum...
