"I'd originally decided on a Siemens built in double before I was persuaded that we had to go for a built under. So a single built under was decided on....before I was persuaded to go for a double oven. So we ended up with the HB55NB550B model. The write-ups were excellent all round and, having now seen the finished item I can agree that it looks the business however....there are two points to note that I wish I'd considered before I bought it. Both relate to the size of the oven. Firstly the 'main' oven' is tiny, Siemens classify it as 'medium'. Any attempt to get a family roast with the trimmings is going to fail. You could of course fire up the oven in the grill section but for anyone like me used to cooking in a single oven space that doesn't come easily. Plus doing that is all extra energy usage. Secondly, in what may seem a perverse statement, it's a very big oven. By that I mean that to fit it under the standard worktop the base of the over is well below the line of the standard kick board. We had to lower it even further since we need to fit a gas hob directly above it. This placed the oven floor only a few inches above the kitchen floor. So it looks like I'll be doing most of my cooking on my knees. Moral of the story; firstly read the oven specs carefully and consider where you want the oven to go. Secondly, plan your kitchen, buy the appliances you want, get the fitter in and then, and only, then tell the wife what's happening. You can explain it was planned as a surprise because you can be sure it will be. This oven is great if you are really limited for space and want something all singing and all dancing to impress you friends with before you all go out for a meal"
