Samsung Prezio Dual Cook BQ2Q7G078 Built In Electric Single Oven - Black Glass

We love it. It’s in our Top 5!Samsung’s revolutionary dual cook technology means you can transform the BQ2Q7G078 in to a double oven. Split the main oven in two with the separator and set different temperatures and times for two meals in one go. Ideal if you have a fussy family who like different meals. It has 65 litres of capacity and a huge choice of 8 cooking programmes, including ‘Bottom heat + convection’, ideal for baking dishes such as quiches and cheesecake. Pyrolytic cleaning removes all dirt after cooking – working at 500°C to burn off dirt and grease, leaving you only ash to sweep away. Don't forget the 5 year warranty either.

"SamsungBQ2Q7G078"

Pros: Value for money, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

Cons: Complicated, slightly complicated when you first start!

"A very efficient Appliance!

The only criticism is that the Manufacturers Instructions for use are not very clear.

I would, however, strongly recommend this oven system! It is modern, and is cosmetically also very striking.

When the oven is in operation, visitors are really taken by the digital display!!

Hats off to Samsung."

"Well pleased"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good, easy to use once sussed, good insulation holds heat

"As others have reviewed, the instructions are not that good. I had to go onto the internet to work out how to operate the top grill.

The oven its self is great, and now is second nature to operate, very controllable. Love the looks, a joy to use."

"No advance timer"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

Cons: no timer to set it to come on in advance

"The only timer with this is to turn the oven off. But there is not one to turn it on. This means I can't set it before I go to work to come on before I get home. To me this is a huge negative that outweighs the other good points. Other than that, an excellent oven but overall very disappointed."

very impressed with the overal appearance and performance of this oven.

"Excellent product"

Pros: Good build quality, Quiet, looks good, efficient

Cons: condensation, quiet timer alarm, needs a lot of presses to achieve function

"I've had this oven for just under a month now and I have to say that it is the best oven I've ever had. Initially I was a little sceptical about the dual cook function given that when both ovens are in use as a split function you can only go as low as 170C in either oven, not much use for a slow baking cake I thought. However, my husband persuaded me it was a function we'd find useful and so we bought it.

If like me you had a simple single oven previously check and double check your measurements carefully. The width and height are pretty standard but depth was slightly longer than my old oven and the height of the back of the oven is almost the full height of the oven at the front. For us that extra height at the back (caused due to the dual fans) created a problem with the gas pipe to the hob above the oven and we had to have the gas pipe moved by 2.5cm to enable the oven to slide into the kitchen unit fully. Aside from that, fitting was fairly straightforward.

As far as using the oven, yes, it does take a little while to get used to which buttons to press but the instruction booklet is helpful enough to mean you can figure out the basics quickly enough. It does seem as though you are using a ridiculous amount of "button" presses to get to where you want to be (7 presses to get the grill on), I'm finding this less irritating the longer I use the oven.

The split oven feature is incredibly useful and I use it nearly every time I use the oven. For a single person it is energy saving and for a couple/family it makes cooking separate meals a doddle in terms of timing. In fact I find this feature so useful I don't think I'll ever want to go back to a single oven or even a conventional double oven. The single oven fitted our turkey beautifully and while the turkey was resting we were able to split the oven and quickly blast the roast tatties while the veggies were being kept warm below which brings me to another use for the split oven... if you are using only half of the oven the other half does heat up a little, enough to warm your plates without having to switch the second half of the oven on at all. Pre-heating is helped by a little "bing" to let you know the correct temperature has been reached.

You get two baking sheets and one wire rack with this oven, as well as the separator. I personally would have preferred another wire rack but have had no issues cooking with the sheets so far, in fact making biscuits/meringues etc is easier as you have two full oven width baking sheets to use giving a lot more space. One of the baking sheets doubles as a grill pan and due to it being full oven width you can cook quite a substantial amount of toast on it. The grill takes a little bit of time to get used to it is so efficient, and we've burnt quite a lot of toast so far, blink and your toast is done once the grill is up to temperature.

Although, as you may be able to tell, I am sold on this oven there are a few minor irritations. As other reviewers have said, you do seem to get an inordinate amount of condensation in the oven when it is in use, to the point that I've had to wipe the inside glass of the door part way through cooking. The timer buzzer to let you know the cooking time is over is VERY quiet, so quiet I keep missing it. The amount of "button" presses I've already touched on and the only other thing is I keep switching the oven off by mistake when I lean against the counter while using the hob and my hip touches the off button. But, like I said, these are minor irritations. The oven cooks beautifully.

So far I've not had to use either of the internal cleaning functions (pyrolytic or steam) so can't comment on them, but given the front exterior is fully glass with no pesky chrome dirt is removed with a simple wipe of a cloth."

Samsung BQ2Q7G078

The 65 litre oven behind the sturdy triple-glazed doors of the Samsung BQ2Q7G078 is big enough to cook for a family of 5 in one go. Thanks to Samsung’s truly revolutionary Dual Cook Technology, it’s also perfect for times when you’re cooking more than one meal at once.

Dual cooking allows you to turn this single oven into a double by simply adding the separating tray that’s included. You can select two cooking times and temperatures, so it’s great when preparing a hot-pot and an apple pie at the same time. The temperatures, times and flavours of each meal are kept completely separate meaning that it really is like having two ovens. If one meal takes less time than the other, the oven will turn off the heat to that section. Two LED time displays let you keep an eye on how long each dish has left – and they’ll tell you the temperature of the cavity too. Or, you can always use it as a single oven if you’ve got a large turkey or chicken to roast.

There are 8 different cooking functions, including ‘Top heat + convection’ which is perfect for roasts as a fan evenly cooks your meal whilst the top element adds crispiness to meat. All selected through modern touch control, it’s a really stylish unit. The oven can act as a variable grill too; choose either large or small grilling, depending on the size of your dish. Using only what you need will help save money.

Once you’re done cooking, start the pyrolytic function to thoroughly clean the inside of your oven. Working at temperatures reaching 500°C, all grease and dirt is burnt off, leaving you just having to sweep up the remaining ash.

Rated A for energy efficiency, it will help to keep bills down by needing less electricity to run than older appliances.
