The Smeg D4B is excellent for kitchens where floor space is precious, as it takes up just 45cm - much slimmer than standard 60cm models. You’ll still get 10 full place settings in there – that’s 10 lots of plates, bowls, glasses and sets of cutlery - so it’s a decent size for a 2 or 3 person household.
To make sure every item gets cleaned thoroughly, there’s a special spray arm – named the Shuttle system – which moves back and forth across the dishwasher to cover everything. It means you’ll never have to put up with some half-washed items like other slimline models sometimes give you.
Even if your dishes are really grubby, say you’ve made a big Sunday roast, the ultraclean setting guarantees everything comes out sparkling. It heats water to 70°C in order to strip away any greasy, burnt on food – it’ll take care of your dirty dishes much faster than standard cycles can.
For more delicate items like champagne flutes or bone china, there’s a dedicated gentle cycle. It uses low temperatures, around 45°C, and low water pressure to get your items clean; just without the worry of any cracks or chips.
