Neff D5855X0GB Built In Canopy Cooker Hood - Silver

Powerful extraction without taking over. Made to be built into your wall-mounted cupboards the Neff D5855X0GB canopy cooker hood is very discreet and still offers a maximum extraction rate of 650m³/h – more than enough for a large kitchen. There are metallic grease filters too which catch the steam and odours. They’re really easy to clean – just pop them in the dishwasher and they’re ready to reuse.

"Extrator hood"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

"For anyone who wants an understated kitchen, sleek design that delivers on every aspect.

Great for wider range ovens, covers a 110 wide

hob, start the appliance before you start to cook and leave on a good 10- 15 minutes after you have finished. This is my second Cooker hood in a year as I moved house, very happy with my purchase."

"Very good cooker hood"

Pros: Easy to use, Quiet, looks good

"Even at low settings it extracts (externally) very well. Gets noisy at the highest speed setting, but it's rare you need to use all that power. We normally have ours set on 1 or 2 which is pretty quite and still powerful."

"Not bad"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, looks good

"Noisy at intensive setting, but they all are. Not too bad on lower settings (but haven't tested the extraction capability that low). Easy to install and looks good but the lightness makes it feel a bit "tinny". The filter grilles fit well but not perfectly so there's an irritating 1mm gap. Also, filters can be quite fiddly to install. Haven't had it long enogh to assess long term use but seems to work well."

Neff D5855X0GB

The Neff D5855X0GB is ideal if you want some powerful ventilation to your kitchen, but don’t want a big cooker hood ruining the look of your fitted kitchen. It’s made to fit inside your unit, making it very easy to hide away.

At its highest setting it’ll draw in air at a rate of 650m³/h. This is definitely powerful enough for a big kitchen as well as smaller ones, no matter how many pans you’ve got on the go, it’ll handle all the steam and smells from them. There are three lower settings, ideal if you’re only using one or two pans at a time.

It measures 73cm across too, making it wider than standard cooker hoods. Since your hood and your hob have to be the same size in order to provide adequate ventilation, this slightly larger model gives you more scope for adding extra hob space to your kitchen too.

In terms of upkeep, the D5855X0GB is very easy to maintain. The metallic filters – the parts that look like scouring pads – are simple to wash. You can either run them through the dishwasher or let them soak in a sink of soapy water. You won’t have to spend money constantly replacing filters, plus your hood will always run at top performance.

On the underside of the hob there are two lights, which let you keep a closer eye on how your food is cooking. Very handy at night time too, if you want to rustle up a quick midnight snack.
