Programme wise, the DCU6130S has more choice than some of the more expensive tumble dryers. There are 11 sensor drying options, each designed for a particular type of fabric, like delicates, cottons and synthetics. There are 4 timed programmes too for those of you who know exactly how long your towels take to dry. Just turn the dial to the duration you want and it’ll run until the time’s up.
To help out with the ironing, the DCU6130S uses reverse action technology. This means that the drum turns both ways (clockwise and anticlockwise) to stop your clothes from tangling around each other and creasing up. Less creases means less ironing.
Because it’s a condenser dryer, all the hot air condenses as water and collects in a container in the top left hand corner of the machine. Just pull the handle (the part that looks like a detergent drawer on a washing machine) and pour the water. There’s even an indicator to let you know when it needs emptying. It couldn’t be easier.
For the most forgetful of you, the DCU6130S even has an indicator light to let you know when the filter needs cleaning. It’s important that you empty it out too because as fluff builds up, the dryer becomes less energy efficient. It’s a really easy job, just pop it out of the door and rinse it under the tap.
