Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good, easy to install
Cons: salt & rinse aid settings hard to adjust.
"On unwrapping it I noticed it’s a very simple set up so would be ideal for non techie people, I took a bash at fitting it myself and found it very easy with very minimal expertise needed. It’s a very light appliance making it easy to shuffle into the gap under the counter, I was expecting it to be as heavy as a washing machine for some reason, but was pleasantly surprised at it being so light.
It comes with the standard water connection and waste pipe, you may need to buy a new trap with double waste and a double water connection if you have both a washing machine and your dishwasher using the same facilities, I only had a single one so I had to upgrade the plumbing myself. You also get a fitted plug so it’s al ready to go once you’ve plugged it in.
This dishwasher is massive inside, according to Indesit you can fit 14 place settings in there, making this dishwasher very family friendly. It has 7 programs, not too many so you won’t be able to choose, personally I prefer to pre wash first for very dirty dishes and then use the Eco setting as our normal washing program, it takes approx 3 hours (one of the longest programs) but it saves on the electric running costs.
Looking inside we have the detergent dispenser where you can put in your tablet or powder detergent, and next door to that is your rinse aid reservoir, it’s a good idea to keep this topped up as it really improves the drying of your dishes and cutlery so at the end of the cycle just open up the door and leave it for a little while then you’re ready to put the dishes away!
Something to remember if you are in a hard water area you need to make sure the refined salt dispenser is full, this isn’t included in the package, so you will need to buy this in preparation for delivery, it essentially neutralises your hard water giving your dishes the best finish. The dishwasher comes with this set to the factory setting but what that is I don’t know but if you are in a hardwater area I would recommend adjusting it to the max setting.
If we look at the lower basket we have room for the large plates, pots and pans and cutlery, in the top basket we have the area for bowls and side plates and glasses and cups, the top basket can be moved up or down should you need the space, it can also be removed so you can put in very large items such as trays or large saucepans in the bottom tray.
Overall it runs very quietly, you just hear the water swishing around but it’s no way as loud as the washing machine, it’s perfect for our small 3 person family, loads of space for a couple of days worth of dishes at a time as it’s so large! I’d definitely recommend this dishwasher with it’s A++ rating which means it’s just one down from the most eco friendly appliance rating you can get! It’s well worth the money, me and my family are very very pleased with it."
