Product Reviews

"Not as good as expected..."

Pros: Easy to use

Cons: Expensive, Noisy

"I bought this as the brand was recommended by an engineer (who services tumble dryers) as being good value for money, good build, and good features) and that when it eventually did go wrong parts would be cheaper than more expensive brands e.g. Miele, AEG etc.

HOWEVER - compared with other brands (I used to have an AEG and when I lived with my parents they had a Miele) this dryer is NOT as good.

It is really noisy!! So don’t think about leaving it on overnight – unless you have an outside washroom or large house with a laundry room in a far off corner.

Because it is economical it doesn't seem to use a high temperature (compared with past experience) to dry things so:

Clothes tend to come out more creased (I used to get away with taking shirts out without needing to iron them)

Even on extra dry setting clothes can come out considerably damp (so sensors are not as accurate at predicting dryness), as for the cupboard dry setting you might as well forget it.

Drying times are twice as long (2-3 hours) compared to less efficient dryers

If you are an outdoor enthusiast and reproof your waterproof membranes, sometimes the manufacturers recommend a hot tumble dry or iron (notable event fabrics) to reactivate the water-repellent fabric - this tumble dryer will not be hot enough – so get the iron out…

So if you do not mind sacrificing convenience, peace and quiet, or time - for the sake of the environment (saving money) this tumble dryer will be okay but is nothing special and probably not worth the price. If you are spending this much money get a Miele or AEG."

"Love it"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

"Yes being a condenser means an end to the great long pipes, but the Beko is so much more than just that. Comprehensive list of settings which are very easy to choose from. Amongst them are settings for ironing, and another is draw dry. Yes it was quite expensive, but with all it's features and A+++ rating is well worth the difference."

"Great buy!"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good, internal light, sensor drying

"I don't know how this didn't make the top 5, this tumble dryer is truly a bargain! I needed to replace my 7 year old Hoover and was finding it difficult to choose. What I did know was that I wanted a condenser drier with a good size drum and that was energy efficient. This dryer met my criteria. The dryer is rated A+++, which is probably the best rating of any dryer available today. The drum holds 8kg and is sufficient for drying a large load of clothes, bed linen or towels with room to spare. It is a condenser so this means no venting, water goes into a large chamber at the top of the dryer, or if you have a washing machine already plumbed in close by, you can use the supplied hose to plumb it into the waste, so doing away with the need to empty the chamber. I found this machine to be much quieter than my old Hoover, it doesn't steam up the room either. It has a digital display and plenty of useful programmes to choose from. Because the machine has sensors it often finishes the drying cycle much quicker than the indicated time. It also has an audible signal to let you know when the cycle has finished. Indicators alert you to empty the water chamber or clean the lint filter. These are all accessible and easy to empty/clean. There is also an interior light in the drum which is very useful. Some have stated that their clothes are not dry enough. This will vary according to the programme you have used and sometimes it may be necessary to put on another cycle. I haven't found this to be a problem. This machine is so much faster/better than what I had before and was well worth paying a bit extra for. I can't comment on durability, but it certainly looks and feels well made, is stylish and works well in my opinion. So far I cannot fault it."

Beko DPU8360W

Beko have really stepped up their game with the DPU8360W condenser dryer. It’s A+ rated for energy efficiency and will use a lot less energy than the average dryer, saving you money on electricity.

This immaculate white tumble dryer comes sporting Beko’s ‘dry and save’ heat pump technology, which makes extra use of the condenser to actually heat the air that dries the clothes. This closed loop system is wonderfully efficient and, because there is so little waste, you can dry at much lower temperatures while achieving the same effects. The lower temperatures are far gentler on your clothes too, so your towels and T-shirts will stay fluffy and perfectly formed for much longer.

For those of you that find yourselves in a bit of a rush all too often, the DPU8360W comes with an Xpress programme which can get through a 1kg load of clothes in just 45 minutes. You can get your kids school uniforms in and out of the drum before they even step out the door on a morning. They’ll certainly appreciate that warm fuzzy feeling in the winter months.

There is a whole host of sensor and timed drying modes, so whether you’re drying your darks, your jeans or your lucky unmentionables, there’s a perfect cycle on the list. They’re easy to find too. The LCD display is really simple to navigate through and because you can see your selection on screen, you can be certain you’ve picked the right cycle for each individual load.
