"Installation"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good, easy for parts if ever needed.

Cons: poor installation instructions

"Ok, so we've only had it for 2 weeks but so far, this is a great machine. I also became a bit of an anorak but knew that if it was as good as the reviews and spec. then we wouldn't be disappointed. There is loads of room, plenty of wash / programme choices, half load, gentle eco wash, quick thrash before work, delayed start to use cheap electricity etc. The 2 shelves, can be raised or lowered and the individual rows of racks can be folded down to make way for all your saucepans. There are bits to hold wine glasses in place and for ladles and knives too long for the utensil tray and it is very quiet; very impressed with that, as ours is in our kitchen / dining room. It's all good. Remember to do the water hardness test before use. You set it as a one-off action when you first switch it on then forget about it. AND remember to tell it each time, that you are using tablets and NOT individual detergent, salt, rinse aid etc. Out of interest, in the book it emphasizes that tablets are by far their second choice. I've only really just got this into my head but you have no way of adjusting the "chemicals" to suit your needs so you may not get the best wash IF the programme selected actually needs more salt or rinse aid than there is in the tablet. And of course, it cannot control when the chemical get released. If the crockery comes out dirty, we would of course all blame the machine. The only down side to the whole thing is the installation instructions. There are no words just diagrams. For what it's worth I hope this may be of some help..... The back feet only have about 15mm of adjustment although the book appears to say 50mm ! They MUST only be adjusted by the 2 "Torq" screws at the bottom of the front panel (you can also use a flat blade, so I don't know why they bothered with the Torq screws ? Play with them first to learn if it is clock-wise or anti clock-wise to lower or raise the back feet and see for yourself how little adjustment they offer. Don't use a spanner as you can strip the thread of the internal mechanism. Get the height at the back as near to correct as you can, with packing if need be or the extender legs, so that you only need to make the final adjustment to get it level and to the right height using the screws at the front. The front legs are easy to get to and can be adjusted with a spanner with or without the extender legs. I felt that the extender legs made it all a bit flimsy after I'd pulled the machine in and out a few time trying to get it right so opted for the extra legs at the back but the front legs wound right in, and a piece of wood under the front legs -which can easily be removed and replaced if the machine ever needs to come out. NOTE: If you add bits of wood under the back legs when you first put it in, think, would you be able to get the back of the machine lifted and back up onto the bits of wood if you ever have to pull it out and push it back in for any reason ? To add the 50mm extender legs, you need to flip out the flat "cap" of the legs on the machine with a knife so that you can get the extender legs to push up into place. Fitting your wood panel door to the machine door is not difficult but an extra hand just to guide the bits of plastic that hold it in place in the machine door is useful. Note the little slot in the plastic template MUST be in line with the middle of the door. Once all in place, the door of the machine with the panel door fitted can be adjusted to make it heavier or lighter when opened so that it rests at the "half open" position without crashing to the floor every time. The adjuster screws are near the top at the front edge within the front door seal. Again, Torq or flat blade needed. Ignore sketches 17b1 to b5. This is only if you're having so much trouble with setting the door weight that you have to adjust the spring tension by half stripping the machine. At that point I'd ring the supplier and tell them to come and sort it themselves or replace it with one that has been set up properly in the factory ! DO put the silver foil in place to protect your worktop from the steam and once you're happy that it's straight and level, DO screw the small brackets in place into the underside of the worktop to keep it all steady. When I opened the door, the whole machine moved, so I put mine in place early to help me get the machine flat and in line with the other units, then did them properly when I was happy. Hopefully, you won't even need to read these notes but I would have been very grateful if someone had told me ! If you get stuck, phone the help line. They will say that they are only there if you need to call out an engineer but ask nicely, and they will put you onto their own people who have actually fitted them. I had probably better not just give out the number but nice people and very helpful. Enjoy your machine !"

"Better than the Bosch/Neff equivalen"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

"Having researched dishwashers and decided against spending a fortune on a Miele; this Beko dishwasher stood out when compared with similar spec'd machines from Bosch/ Neff for £70 or so more. ( which incidentally are identical machines under different sister brands).

The Beko has a much better designed interior rack system and a slightly larger holding capacity for the same size machine. Build quality is good, comparable to Bosch machine and thus far after 4 weeks is performing very well. An extremely quiet good value appliance, which hopefully will last a good few years."

"good machine"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet

Cons: bad instruction manual, rapid wash not that great

"this is a good machine, my only beef is that it wasn't clear that the rapid wash would not actively dry the contents. also, rapid wash needs to be pretty clean before you start.

it has loads of flexibility as to how you stack it, and room for everything so far.

it's quiet. opening door mid wash causes no problems.

the instruction manual is too ambiguous but in the end you just do the obvious and it's fine.

basic economy wash is great."

Beko DW686

This dishwasher is very popular with our customers, with one noting that it's “very sturdy, easy to use and has a good range of programmes. It washes very well and holds lot of dishes and pots. I like the air drying feature and the other economy features. Brilliant for the price". It's alsway good to learn from experience.

The economy features on the Beko DW686 dishwasher that this customer has mentioned include the Eco programme This runs at 50°C for 150 minutes. It’s the longest cycle on the dishwasher, but it actually uses the least amount of energy and water, 1.05 kWh and 10 litres to be precise. Think of it like a car, travelling at 50mph will take you longer to get there, but it will use far less petrol than driving at 80mph.

As well as the Eco wash, the remaining programmes on the Beko include a Toddler Hygiene programme that has a hot pre-wash and an intermediate 50°C rinse, an Auto Sensing wash which calculates the level of dirt, and a 30 minute Rapid programme at 35°C which is great for the morning rush. There’s also a higher temperature 58 minute Quick Clean at 60°C which is perfect for a full days load in the evening, and a 70°C, 124 minute Intensive setting for burnt on grease and fat.

Once the wash is done, the DW686 dishwasher benefits from an innovative turbo fan drying system which uses vents at top and bottom of the dishwasher to speedily dry the load.

To fit 13 place settings inside the dishwasher, the top basket is height adjustable to accommodate larger items, while the lower basket has folding plate supports that you can raise or recline to suit the load.
