Smeg FAB28QG1 Fridge
Smeg’s FAB range is designed to be trendy, and the FAB28YG1 will make a bold statement in your kitchen. The yellow finish is bright and clear, and the retro shape is modelled after the 1950s American style refrigerator.
With an impressive A++ rating, it’s one of the most efficient fridges available. Having it run night and day won’t be a worry as it costs less than 6p a day. It’s guaranteed to be cheaper than your older fridge, and make a noticeable difference to your bills.
The fridge has 222 litres of space, so there’s plenty of room to fit in a weekly shop for a large family. You’ve got 4 adjustable shelves that you can move to fit around larger items, and even a handy wine rack to help keep your bottles out of the way. The automatic defrost will also help to melt any ice that builds up, so cleaning will be a lot easier.
You also get a 26 litre frozen food compartment. The equivalent to a shelf space, you can keep smaller items in here like a bag of chips or a ready meal. Like any bigger freezer, it’s got a 4 star rating meaning you can freeze food for up to 12 months. It’s not frost free, but being small in size means it will be easy to defrost.
The door is hinged on the right hand side and isn’t reversible. Not to worry though, the FAB28YG1 is the exact same model, just with a left hand hinge. Whichever one you go for, just remember that you’ll need to leave a gap of 175mm on the hinge side so the door can open fully.
