Hotpoint FZFM171G Freestanding Upright Freezer - Graphite

Loads of space for a great price. The Hotpoint FZFM171G has a large 245 litres capacity, so you shouldn’t ever struggle for space. You get plenty of storage with 7 compartments, and it’s frost free so you won’t have to defrost. You’ll also save money compared to your older freezer as the A+ energy rating means it costs less than 10p a day to run. It comes in a graphite finish, which is darker than your traditional silver and the door is reversible so it will fit around your kitchen layout.

"Neat and spacious"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

"Coming from a large chest freezer I was dubious about a tall standing, drawer freezer. As it turns out, this freezer is much easier to store and organise items. It's quiet, good looking, and spacious. Very pleased."

"First time buying a hotpoint and was surprised. It was very well build and better than the white large boxes you see in stores. Look like the best on the market and the price amazing."

"Good buy"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, looks good

"I bought this to replace an older chest freezer, and it doesn't hold as much. Its a very nicely made freezer and isn't that noisy, but it does live in the garage. I like the look of it, and it works fine. I would rate this quite well as I think it is good value for money."

"Great freezer, but likes seeing the engineer"

Pros: Easy to use, Quiet, looks good

Cons: poor quality, suspect qa in the manufacturing process

"I've had this freezer 3 months now, and it is everything we wanted - good looking, huge capacity and very quiet. However, it will be seeing a service engineer for the 4th time on Thursday. The problems started when I had the house we had moved into rewired and brought up to current standards. The utility room circuit is now behind a RCD on the consumer unit, and plugging the freezer in tripped the RCD. Hotpoint service came out and confirmed that there was a fault and ordered a new "top board". The week after, it was brought to be fitted... and it was the wrong board. Another week later and the right board was brought and fitted. Last week, my electrician put the utility circuit back behind the RCD.... and the freezer tripped it again. My electrician suspects the top board problem is a symptom of the fault and not the cause of the fault. Lets see how we get on on Thursday.

Its a great freezer for all the reasons I gave in the opening paragraph, but I have to suspect that build quality and QA are a little dodgy. Sadly, I cant recommend you get this."

Hotpoint FZFM171G Upright Freezer

The Hotpoint FZFM171G comes in a really good looking graphite finish, which is darker than your average silver model. At 175cm, it offers an impressive 245 litres of space which is more than enough room to hold a weekly shop for a larger family.

One great benefit is that you’ll never need to defrost this freezer, or lose space to ice build up. This is because it’s fully frost free. It also means food will keep colour and texture when frozen, and it’s far easier to keep food like sausages separate. Excessive ice build up can cause freezers to use more electricity, but as it’s frost free this model will always keep an A+ rating, costing less than 10p a day to run. So you’ll make a saving on your bills if replacing an older model.

There are 7 compartments inside, so you’ll have plenty of space to organise your food. They range in different sizes, with the deeper draws able to hold larger items like a frozen chicken, and a smaller pull out tray (perfect for your ice cubes or frozen lollipops). All drawer fronts are see-through too, helping you to spot your food quickly without having to leave the door open for long.
