LPG convertible, so you can use it without mains gas. The Hotpoint GC640IX uses gas fuel to give you a responsive cooking experience. The heat changes instantly with the slightest of dial turns, meaning you’re in full control. You get 4 burner zones which are spread in an incredibly useful layout. The 2 larger burners sit at either side, while the medium and small zone at either end. This makes arranging your pans so simple and they won’t get in each other’s way either. It’s LPG convertible so you can use it even without access to mains gas. We also offer hassle free installation when we deliver, so your new hob can be up and runnning on the same day!

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good
"I liked the diamond shaped layout of the hob and it has modernised my kitchen. The stainless steel is easy to clean but does show water marks, so ideally it needs to be wiped then dried with kitchen roll. The self-igniting burners make it very simple to use and they are easy to control. The only downside of the layout is that the small burner at the back does not have much room around it so can only take a small pan. This is partly due to the position of the hob near the back of my worktop (I used an existing space where my old hob had been). If putting this into a new kitchen, you could position the hob nearer the front to allow more space around the rear burner. Other than that, the hob is great value, works well and looks good. Would definitely recommend."

"The layout of this Hob is really unusual. It looks really smart and adds something special and very different to the kitchen. People always moan about keeping stainless steel clean but I just use a soapy cloth then a dry cloth and it comes up a treat."

"This is a nice looking hob. Reasonable price. Still trying to get used to the diamond formation of the burners. The small burner at the back is a bit fiddley as not sure where to put the pan handle. I'm sure it will just take time. Looks really nice and modern in my kitchen. The heat control is really good and the burners can be turned down really low without them blowing out. Overall would recommend."

Cons: the ring holder is a bit slippy
"The hob looks very fresh and clean easy to use quick lighting
Only downside I found is my large frying pan slips on the large 'ring'"

"It looked good in the pictures and even better when installed. Like the controls being on the front, very sturdy and well built. May not make me cook any better but that's not the hob's fault! Would recommend this item."

"I purchased this Hotpoint Hob about a month ago . I chose this particular hob mainly for the price and the style and I must say I have not been disappointed. It is easy to ignite and the knobs are well placed for ease of use. I particularly like the way that all parts are removable for ease of cleaning. I wondered if it would be difficult with the knobs being at the front rather than the side as I was used to, but I have found this not a problem. Some say that pans slide off because of the enamelled supports, but I have not found this to be the case, in fact the coffee pot sits on the supports without slipping at all and the supports are very easy to clean with just a wipe. All in all this is a good buy and if it lasts as long as my last hob (approx. 25 years) I will be more than happy."
