Leisure GRB6GVC Freestanding Gas Cooker - Cream

Traditional style. If you like the look of traditional range cookers but don’t have the space to house one, the GRB6GVC is the perfect alternative. It looks great in cream and measures just 60cm wide, so you don’t need much floor space to house it. It comes with 2 conventional ovens, which will always be hotter at the top than at the bottom. This makes them great for getting a crispy top on food like cottage pies. The main oven holds 65 litres of space, while the smaller oven holds 35 litres, so you’ve got plenty of room to cook with.

Product Reviews

"Very good value for money"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

"Previous cooker was the leisure 55cm and I needed to replace it being a satisfied customer previously I looked for the same model. However things had moved on and the new leisure range is now 60cm so I purchased it and I am very pleased. I have a double oven and grill and much speedier cooking times possibly due to being a new oven."

"Good Product"

Pros: Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

Cons: slow top oven

"The cooker looks smart and seems quite well made. The pan supports for instance are solid cast metal with rubber feet.

Performance: The pan burners work fine, but if you are used to an old cooker, you may find that even when turned right down they still give a fast simmer. No doubt this is because of the flame safety feature fitted on almost all new cookers.

The grill feature in the upper oven space seemed slower than my old cooker's eye-level grill, but it uses far less gas (2.3KW compared with up to 4.1KW).

The upper oven seemed slower than my old cooker oven, but it uses less gas (2.1KW compared with 3.08KW). It also appears to be hottest at the back.

The two functions are completely independent in case anyone was wondering. There is a fan that keeps the control knobs cool when grilling - this feature works quite well.

The lower oven works adequately considering the power: 2.3KW compared with 3.08KW in the old one.

All the burners are easy to light. The top handle/rail partly blocks my view of the knobs unless I crouch down.

If you are comparing various cookers I suggest you try to find out what the burner powers actually are (and compare with your old one). All gas ovens tend to be hotter at the back (where the burners are) and the top (where the heat rises to)."

"Lovely & Sturdy"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good, saftey features, great sized oven

Cons: oven temperature

"Pros: The pan top area is very sturdy and very easy to clean. The oven has good safety features and it looks really great in our kitchen. The top oven / grill is a nice size and the special grill plate that goes onto the top of the stove is great for no fat eggy bread and bacon. The oven is a really good size for a gas oven and comes with 1 shelf in the grill and 2 in the oven. The timers are excellent.

Cons: It was fiddly getting the curved back area screwed on as the screws are so small. The oven takes a good 10mins to get to temperature and I find that I need to increase the temperature 1 over what it should be. Apart from that it cooks beautifully. Some people might mind the fact that only the oven ignites by itself but there is a button for the hob area. I think it is a safety feature."

"So far so good!"

Pros: Easy to use, Good build quality, looks good, solid

"Early days, only been using the cooker for a week, so far no regrets! Have only used small oven which is important when you are cooking for one. I love the griddle included with the oven and have used it almost daily!"

"DO NOT BUY THIS COOKER"

Pros: there is none!

Cons: poor quality, everthing about it!

"words fail me this cooker is abs.rubbish in every way! It is built out of old tin cans, the grill only works 1 every 2 months; the oven/grill goes out every time; the main oven is not hot and I have replaced EVERY part in 3 years"

Leisure GRB6GVC Mini Range Cooker

You get all the style of a range cooker with the GRB6GVC, without the need for loads of floor space. It measures 60cm wide and comes in a traditional cream colour, which will complement a country style kitchen perfectly.

It gives you plenty of space too, with 65 litres in the main oven and 35 in the top oven. It’s a great size for a 3 or 4 person family. Both ovens are conventional, which means they give you different heat zones – the top will always be hotter than the bottom. It’s great if you cook lots of different things at once. There’s a grill in the top oven too.

Up on the hob you get 4 gas burners in a variety of sizes. For peace of mind, they each have a flame failure safety device, which automatically switches off the gas should a flame ever go out.
