Bosch Exxcel GSN36VW30G Freestanding Upright Freezer - White

Loads of space. If it’s room you’re after, the Bosch GSN36VW30G freezer is perfect. It even has 2 Big Boxes, designed to hold larger items like bags of frozen chips. There’s a function called Superfreeze for those items that might have defrosted on the way home from the shops. It rapidly reduces the temperature of the freezer to lock in the nutrients and keep your food safe. It’s frost free too, so you’ll never have to worry about defrosting again. And thanks to its A++ energy rating, it’ll cost just £2.40 a month to run.

Product Reviews

"Not the one I wanted......"

Pros: Good build quality, Quiet

Cons: no indicator lights on door

".....but it was the nearest I could get at short notice. It's very tall and 5cm deeper than most, so it's BIG. A couple of drawers are above my eye level (I'm 5' 5"). The 2 deep drawers are useful if you have big things, but small stuff takes some finding. The thing I can't get used to, and don't like, is the fact that the indicators are inside, so can be seen only if the door is open. The door, by the way, once closed, closes very tightly. I've read that the freezer moves when you try to open the door. Mine doesn't - I have to give the door 3 or 4 tugs before it opens, but the freezer doesn't follow it. The door also doesn't completely close itself, so it can be almost closed without you knowing, and the warning sound doesn't go off because the door's not open wide enough."

Pros: Good build quality, looks good

Cons: door opening trcky

"Build quality seems good and runs fairly quietly. Biggest problems are opening door (no lever to break seal like previous Bosch freezer) so have to pull very hard which tends to move unit across floor. Also care needed to ensure the top two pull down flaps are fully closed before shutting door. Finally capacity is not quite as much as expected given the products height - this due to the thick side walls."

"Good Purchase"

Pros: Value for money, Good build quality, Quiet

"My only comment is that the seal on the door is so strong that when you open the door the whole unit moves forward."

"WATCH OUT"

Pros: looks good

Cons: Noisy

"Very poor design on top two hinged shelves - if you shut the door without putting the shelf front up it smashes! Should have had that problem designed out.

The flex and plug are a disgusting green and the flex is too short.

Noisier than old Bosch fridge or old Iceland freezer (28 years old!)"

"It works well"

Pros: Easy to use, Quiet, looks good

"It looks good, its quiet, it seems to freeze things quickly and hasn't frosted up. The drawers can be taken out and contents rearranged instead of keeping the door open for long periods. so on the whole I am very happy with the product.

The two top shelves have a cover which hinges down. both these have broken - the plastic gets extremely brittle in the cold. I am happy I took out the insurance to replace these things but as yet haven't got round to organise the replacement of these parts. The handle needed the attention of a screwdriver as it became lose - no big deal it was an easy fix.

Ideally I would like the controls to be operable when the door is closed, and be able to see the temperature displayed."

"Not great for Bosch"

Pros: Quiet, holds a lot

Cons: Expensive, contents quite icy

"It's a monster of a thing, holding plenty, but it's not the greatest electrical appliance I've owned. I find the contents to be quite icy, like in freezers from the 70s. Also, as a separate issue, the door doesn't have that 'schlap' of suction that closes it, so, if you just give it a push and walk away, it doesn't close properly - not open enough to make the alarm sound but enough to raise the temperature if not noticed fairly quickly. It was a desperate purchase - the best 'name' I could get at short notice - and I expected more from Bosch."

Bosch GSN36VW30G Freezer

The Bosch GSN36VW30G freezer is ideal for a large family’s weekly shop, as it can hold a massive 237 litres. It comes equipped with 5 transparent drawers, so you can see what’s in there and easily separate your frozen vegetables from your oven chips. And it has 2 Big Boxes, perfect for holding larger items like frozen turkeys at Christmas time.

Unlike many older models, this freezer is frost free. This means there will be no build up of ice, so you won’t ever have to defrost it. There are other handy features too. The Superfreeze function can be activated to rapidly lower the inside temperature of the appliance. This is great if things have started to defrost on the way home from the supermarket, or if you want to make ice lollies in a hurry.

This freezer also has Active Cooling technology, which fans cool air around the freezer to make sure that every compartment gets its fair share, keeping all of your products in perfect condition. And if the freezer becomes too warm because the door’s been left open, there’s an alarm to let you know.
