Indesit H161IX Built In Visor Cooker Hood - Stainless Steel

Simple and affordable extraction. The Indesit H161IX has a maximum extraction rate of 250m³/h, making it ideal for smaller kitchens. Depending on how many pans you’re using, you can reduce the rate with the slider control – very handy if you’re only heating up with one pan. The hood itself is quite petit, so it’s not going to take up lots of wall space in your kitchen. The paper filters are easy to replace and relatively inexpensive too. Plus, the light built in to the underside is there to give you a clear view of how your pots and pans are getting on.

"Good Design Average Operation"

Pros: Easy to use, Value for money, easy to keep clean

Cons: Noisy, carbon filter very expensive

"I really like the design of the brushed chrome extractor hood, and it is easy to keep clean and fits in well with my kitchen. The actual extraction I would rate as average, it deals well with cooking smells, but not so well with steam from boiling pans. And the fan is quite noisy!!"

"A robust but economical hood"

Pros: Value for money, Good build quality, looks good

"The hood was purchased on the basis that the slider switches appear to be more robust than other makes at a similar price. They certainly appear to be robust enough and the extraction appears to be good.

A minor niggle is that the cable ia left of centre at the rear of the cooker and to suit an existing kitchen I wanted it on the right hand side which I arranged myself. The other niggle is that the top fixing screws were star type allen key headed so I replaced these with bolts and drilled out the holes to suit."

"Indesit Cooker Hood"

Pros: Easy to use, looks good

"On the whole a well made hood which does the job well enough. However thepics in instruction manual leave a lot to be desired and it is not ready to use out of the box. to use recirc mode needs the purchase ofa charcoal filter, ande xternal extraction requires correctly sized pipework. Furthermore there are no part numbers of either indicated in the manyual so ordering the parts is not easy.

The only reason for choosing Indesit was the fact that I had recently purchased Indesit oven and hob, there are no particular advantages to this brand over others."

Indesit H161IX

For smaller kitchens that don’t require a huge amount of extraction, the Indesit H161IX is a fantastic, cost-effective solution. It draws air at a rate of 250m³/h, making it ideal for most 4 zone hobs. There are 3 variable venting speeds, so if you’re only using a one or two pans, you can reduce the extraction rate to suit.

The underside of the hood is where the paper filters clip in. They catch oil and grease from your cooking and after a couple of months, you can just throw them away. Replacements are pretty inexpensive and fitting them is as simple as sliding out the old and sliding in the new.

With a running volume of around 60dB, this might not be the quietest model on the market. However it’s still considerably quieter than something like your washing machine, so it’s not likely to cause you any headaches.

It looks fantastic too. Lots of customers who bought it comment on just how good it looks in their kitchen. Even adding that it’s extremely easy to install. Just what you need for such a simple, affordable cooker hood.
