Product Reviews

"Very pleased with purchase"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

Cons: no lid

"Having had an increasingly poorly performing gas oven for the last 5 years this new cooker is a dream by comparison. It looks good, is well built and has the peace of mind that comes from the safety features of thermocouples on the hobs, cutting the gas off if the flame goes out.

We were used to having a lift-up lid that acts as a splashback and it looks like one would have fitted nicely over the burners. However the main benefit of the lid was that it cut the gas off when down and we don't need that now we have the cut-off feature.

We have used it for a week now and cooked roasts, food on the hob and my wife has baked, all to satisfaction so no complaints whatsoever so far."

"Absolutely delighted with this purchase. Best cooker I have ever bought, it certainly deserves its place in your top 5 cookers.

Light in main oven being on whilst in use is bonus, you can see how everything is cooking without opening the door!!"

"Quality Cooker"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

"I had this cooker in electric, and it was excellant. I found it so easy to use and keep clean. ( I used Hob Bright to keep the hob glass looking brand new) When I moved house, I needed gas, and this make and model was my first choice. I have had lots of compliments on it's stylish design. I have a small family but boy do they like large portions, so the double oven is very handy. It heats up instantly and cooks food through evenly. It is so easy to keep clean, just a wipe over and any spills are instantly gone. The hob is divided into two compartments so's any spills remain on the one side, so no need to mop up the entire hob, great idea :D The light in the oven means no need to open the door to check on food, the top oven doesn't have a light, but seeing as the doors are high up,, and glass, just a wee bend down and you can see how it's coming along. All in all I'm very happy with my cooker, and recommend it to all looking for a cheap, stylish, efficiant, well made make. The courier service was top class too, a telephone call an hour before to check I was in was handy as I was on a school run."

"Cooker"

Pros: Quiet

Cons: Expensive, oven is very very low .

"I have only had this for two weeks. The oven is not quite as even as I would have expected. Things on a baking tray tend to burn at the edges and not cook in the middle. Pies are especially difficult to cook evenly. Top burners are good. I have found that the oven is extremely low as well. Almost on the floor in fact. This was something I didnt realise until I first used it. The pan stands on the top are also very flimsy and rather thin. Think it is quite expensive compared to others in this range. I am stuck with it now but as soon as possible I will be changing it. Its also hard to clean the top. Even with hot soapy water you need to dry it completely or it looks smeared. I'm not impressed with it at all and I wouldn't recommend it."

"Great in the beginning, nightmare later"

Pros: Easy to use, looks good

Cons: poor quality, Noisy

"I try to write reviews only after a good period of time has lapsed. I have owned this cooker for 11.5 months now and the oven has been dreadful. The thermostat runs cold so when you follow a recipe to bake at gas mark 4 - you need to run it at gas mark 6 to get anywhere near the correct temperature. I bought a thermometer to check that I was correct before asking for an engineer and the thermostat was correct although the engineer seemed to think my 'cheap' appliance was wrong. His own tester soon proved me right. This oven runs 30 degrees too cold and is incredibly frustrating. Although they are having it fixed (literally on the DAY the warranty runs out), I am skeptical that this will be the end of the problems. Boots have dismissed my concerns."

Hotpoint HAG60K Gas Cooker

Perfect for the no nonsense chef, the Hotpoint HAG60K gas cooker is presented in a stylish black enamel and will look great in any kitchen. And just to keep an eye on things, the digital display acts as both clock alarm and minute minder to keep your dinner from becoming too well done. But with so much valuable cooking space, the real work goes on inside.

In addition to 4 versatile gas burners that are supported by sturdy enamel pan supports, there’s also an invaluable hob flame safety device, just in case. If a flame goes out, the gas will automatically switch off meaning there's no need to worry about gas leaks.

The main cavity offers 65 litres of cooking space, which is plenty of room for the larger family. Since it's a conventional oven, it will always be hotter at the top of the oven than at the bottom. In combination with all that useful space, this means that you can cook your delicious turkey at the top of the oven whilst popping in dessert at the bottom. It also has 2 useful cooking racks so you can fit in as much or as little food as you like.

But if you’re really going for the Christmas feast then just upstairs the secondary cavity offers an additional 35 litres of useable space. It is fully variable and can work as either an oven or grill. This cavity can be used to complement the main oven or can be used on its own for cooking smaller items to save on energy.

To spare a thought for all your hard work, it even comes with catalytic liners built in to aid the cleaning process. These liners will absorb any additional grease that may be in your oven and keep it away from your delicious dinner. Now isn’t that thoughtful.
