The HUG52G gas cooker from Hotpoint is something of a dark horse. It has 41 litres in the main cavities for conventional cooking and 19 litres in the top space for variable grilling, but it also comes with an array of pretty slick features to add to its repertoire.
The 4 gas powered burners on the hob are surrounded by enamel pan supports for stability and easy cleaning and all this power is controlled by the panel at the front of the unit.
The hob comes with a flame failure safety device which can detect when the flame goes out and so cuts off the gas accordingly, saving any waste and making your kitchen safer.
Inside the oven are the catalytic liners. These are pretty impressive. When cooking at high temperatures they oxidise any grease or dirt that has built up inside the cavity so you can actually cook your oven clean. How cool is that?
It’s worth noting that this is a conventional oven. This means that the hottest part of the oven is the top (as heat rises) and so you can a slight variation in intensities within the oven. This is ideal for baking type cooking and because the fuel is natural gas which has moisture in it, you can really lock in the moisture in your food. Top results are a certainty.
