Siemens KG49NAI32G Freestanding Fridge Freezer - Inox

Incredibly efficient and packed with features. In a stainless steel design, the A++ rated Siemens KG49NAI32G looks fantastic, and is fingerprint free so will stay that way. The digital LED display allows you to accurately change the fridge or freezer temperature, and with the unique twin evaporators you can control them separately. Forget about defrosting as the NoFrost technology keeps your freezer ice free, while the fridge has multiAirflow cooling. This gives an even temperature on every shelf, so is perfect for removing hot spots. There’s also a hydroFresh drawer in the fridge that lets you change the humidity depending on what you’re storing. And at 200cm tall, it gives you more room inside without taking up any extra floor space.

"Siemens KG49NAI32G Fridge Freezer"

Pros: Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

Cons: freezer a bit on the small side, freezer bottom drawer falls out!, fridge door alarm after a minute

"We bought this fridge / freezer after having another Siemens for about 15 years! So we were very comfortable with the quality of the brand. We were also specifically looking for fridge / freezer that was 70cm width (as was our old one, and hence the 'gap' in our kitchen is this width) plus one where the depth was as close to 60cm as possible (the depth of most normal worktops is 60cm, and a fridge / freezer deeper than 60cm would definitely stick out!) This product, as far as we could see, was the only one that fitted the bill - apart from perhaps a Beko product - and even then we had to check a few times with various suppliers, as the specification states 65cm depth (but that includes the handle!) Anyway, good news, the depth is perfect, and the product is nicely in place now in our kitchen.

In terms of the actual product then - it looks very classy, is very quiet, and holds nearly as much as our old (slightly smaller in volume) Siemens. The freezer is on the smallish side for us, but we have another under-counter freezer so that's OK. I don't think the freezer on this model could act as the sole freezer for any family over 2 people. Also, as was mentioned by another reviewer(helpfully) the bottom drawer of the freezer does fall out when you pull it out - a bizarre 'feature'! As the reviewer said, why this should be the case on such an expensive model, I don't know - but there you go! It didn't stop us buying the product (of course) but it was helpful to know in advance! Also, there is a minute alarm on the door so that if you leave it open longer than one minute, it starts to beep! Not a huge beep, but a beep...so the adrenalin does start to pump when you know you've had the door open for a while (like loading shopping in!) You can easily make the alarm stop by touching the front panel, but you can't switch it off completely. I would have gone for a 2 or 3 minute alarm rather than a 1 minute, but there we are.

Other than this, love the product. It's tall but not imposing. It holds a lot of fridge stuff. It's quiet and modern. I would definitely recommend.

Final point then - on arrival, the inner seal round the fridge door was a bit battered, which was a bit disappointing when spending a lot of money. However, appliancesonline were excellent with dealing with the problem - got it mended and offered a small discount too. They were not at all defensive or difficult - a real blessing when trying to sort out a problem.

All for now - hope that was helpful!"

"Pretty good but some definite cons"

Pros: Quiet, looks good, holds temp

Cons: some features don't work well

"We chose this fridge because it had the best ratio of capacity to overall size we could find. We trust the Siemens name and it looks very stylish, and we appreciate certain features such as the beeping when we leave the door open and the fact that the temperature is consistent throughout.

There are some problems though. First, the fruit and veg drawer offers an option to change the humidity level based on what's in the drawer. Groovy, we thought. Trouble is, it doesn't work: we have it on the lowest humidity setting and yet we are constantly sopping up condensed water from the bottom of the drawer with kitchen roll. Also, we knew the freezer capacity was limited, so that's not a big complaint. But the bottom drawer of the freezer doesn't run to the back of the unit the way the others do. When you pull it out, there's nothing - a spigot or track or whatever - to keep it attached to the freezer so it falls off when you pull it towards you more than about 2 inches. If you want to take anything out, you have to use one hand to hold it in place and the other to take out what you need. If any digging around is required, the only solution I've found is to actually take the drawer out and put it on the kitchen floor so I can use both hands. I feel idiotic doing it, but I can't imagine what else you're meant to do."

Siemens KG49NAI32G Fridge Freezer

The stainless steel door design with silver sides gives the Siemens KG49NAI32G fridge freezer a modern feel. The sophisticated digital LED display lets you change the fridge and freezer temperature precisely, and with ease. Having twin evaporators, you can adjust the temperature of either compartment and it won’t affect the other. It’s a rare feature to find on a fridge freezer.

With a larger fridge to freezer, it’s a great choice if you like to store more fresh food, and at a height of 200cm it’s taller than the average giving you extra room inside without taking up more floor space. The 303 litre fridge comes with 4 shelves, a wine rack and hydroFresh drawer that let you adjust the humidity. There’s also a coolBox at the bottom perfect for your meat and fish as it’s the coolest part of the fridge. With an AirFresh and AntiBacterial filter, you’ll find any odours will be neutralised and bacteria growth will be reduced to give you a safer environment to store your food.

With 3 drawers in the freezer, there’s 92 litres of space. NoFrost technology will prevent any ice building up and taking over space, and you won’t need to defrost it either. Activating the superFreeze will change the temperature to its lowest – this ambient setting will help nutrients to be locked in faster ultimately meaning you can have your food frozen for longer. Turn it on when you fill it with fresh food, and then simply forget about it as the automatic deactivation will turn the feature off.

Receiving an A++, this technologically advanced will cost an average of 9p a day to run making sure it doesn’t impact on your electricity bills. There’s an alarm to let you know if the doors aren’t closed properly, and a freezer malfunction light if temperatures unexpectedly rise.
