The Siemens LB54564GB has a maximum extraction of 500 m³/h, so it's ideal for a larger kitchen. The 3 venting speeds can handle a variety of odours. Have it high when experimenting with spices or low when you’re simply simmering soup.
The Heat Booster is a really cool feature. It runs for 10 minutes after you’ve finished cooking before automatically stopping. This makes sure your kitchen is free of all odours – fantastic if you’ve just been cooking a big fry up. Another handy feature is the slider control. They’re really easy to use and give you manual control of the hood.
It’s quite narrow at 53cm, so a hob or cooker of a similar size would be ideal. It’s great for open plan living too with a noise level of just 62dB. This is about the same as a normal conversation, so you can watch TV while you cook without being disturbed.
The 2 halogen lights are fantastic for additional brightness. They’re longer lasting than standard bulbs too. You also get a grease filter which is great for removing oily odours from your kitchen.
If you live in a flat and your kitchen is far away from an external wall then you will need to re-circulate air. This means the hood absorbs smells, before returning clean air. You will need a carbon filter to do this. If you plan on removing air outside through a vent, then you will need an additional ducting kit.
