"AEG Favola LM5400"
Pros: Good build quality, looks good
Cons: Complicated, Expensive
"An excellent machine in many ways. However, the very poor manual needs attention.
It is badly laid out, has poor diagrams and worst, it is not comprehensive.
For example: there is no indication of how to remove the steam spout and whisker.
It recommends using Electrolux decalcifying solution, but advertises AEG solution on the back cover
In hard water areas.where frequent use is made, this would cost £28 per month.
It also says to fill the reservoir with the liquid, in which case 70% of the solution would be wasted as the process uses only about 250ml.
The jug has insufficient capacity. Even using less than 1cm of milk, the frothing process runs over the top of the jug before the cycle is complete. Using the recommended levels would have milk and froth running across the kitchen floor!
The whole manual is badly laid out. It would be better in individual language chapters - and why is it not in Italian?
Despite these points, the flavour of Lavazza coffee is not marred."
