"At last, a fridge that actually works"
Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good, all shelves stay within small temperature range
"We decided to replace our old fridge after placing a few small digital thermometers in it. Turned out that there was a massive temperature difference between the shelves (over ten degrees!)
Looking around for a replacement the striking fact is that manufacturers don't actually discuss the ability of their fridges to maintain a safe range (1 to 5 degrees) throughout.
If the top shelve is 10 degrees, you turn the power up. Then the bottom shelve freezes. It means the capacity is restricted to only those shelves that are in the right temp. range. Fridges shouldn't be like that!
Then we found this AEG model, which specifically claims "Precision cooling system
The precision cooling system distributes cold air throughout the fridge ensuring an even temperature is maintained for perfect cooling on every shelf."
And it really does appear to be true. We fill it with stuff, and the three main shelves (and the door) stay within a few degrees of each other, in the safe range, without freezing. The recent very hot weather didn't seem to cause a problem.
We also have it crammed into a small space with the bare minimum of ventilation, with no obvious problems.
HIghly recommended - but then, shouldn't all fridges keep your food cold without freezing it?"
