Siemens IQ-500 SR26T890GB Freestanding Slimline Dishwasher - Stainless Steel

Dishwashing made easy. This silver beauty is one for those who have limited space in their kitchen. The Siemens IQ-500 SR26T890GB slimline dishwasher has 10 place settings, which is above average for a slimline, and with 6 different programmes, it won’t leave you hanging when you really need it! I have to mention its A+ energy rating, as this means it won’t cost too much to run and it will contribute towards saving the environment too.

"replacement dishwasher"

Pros: Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet

Cons: detergent dispenser, door catch

"very quiet operation and very easy to install. The door catch was stiff initially so difficult to start machine but this seems to have resolved after 3 uses.Excellent washing, detergent dispenser doesn't like tablets like previous bosch so best to put directly into the machine."

"Disappointed"

Pros: Quiet

Cons: poor quality, Expensive

"Button panel is cheap plastic, so all buttons move when one is pushed. Display also looks rubbish as too bright and flashes, then no display when finished. Overall disappointed with looks but washes well."

"Exceptional Dishwasher"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

"Due to a change around in our kitchen we had to remove the full size Indesit dishwasher and replace with this slimsize Siemens model. All i have to say is "Simply Exceptional".

The Indesit was installed by the previous owners of the house and i have realised how cheap and poor made those dishwashers were compared to this Siemens model. There is absolutely no comparison to the quality of the machine. First and foremost, it washes amazing, everything comes out sparkling. The quietness of the wash is really unbelievable and also, (i know this sounds mad) i find it much easier to load compared to the full size one as due to the 3rd cutlery rack you dont need to load things in an awkward manner. What i have realised now with German appliances are just like German cars, you pay for someone to put thought into every single aspect of the engineering to ensure it is reliable and does the job to its maximum extent. All the other cheap brands just throw some metal/plastic together, stick a circuit board on it and send it to a shop."

"Good for Slimline"

Pros: Easy to use, Quiet, quick, produces great results

Cons: tad too small

"This machine is excellent for a slimline. Everything comes out sparkling clean. (I used the recommended combination of salt, rinse aid and dishwasher tabs)

The vario speed control means that you can do a full load of the dishwasher in 1hr20mins rather than the standard 2.5hrs.

Additionally, the machine is very quiet and you can barely tell it is running.

The machine is a touch on the expensive side for the control panel build quality, but I am pleased with how it operates and the results produced so I'm not too bothered by this.

Whilst I realise this is a slimline, it is impossible to fit a full sized dinner plate centrally into the rack, which is a surprise as everything is stacked facing left to right... This means they encroach on the space next to it reducing the capacity for pans etc."

"Excellent Dishwasher if used correctly"

Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

Cons: siemens csutomer service quality varies

"This dishwasher is an excellent device if used correctly. It is very quiet (note, we use it in our open plan kitchen and can listen to quiet music) and very effective (crockeries are always clean). Drying works well too.

However, all of this applies only if you (I) do the following (for me at least):

1- Use only Finish tabs and do not use Fairy or any other tablets. They seem to make the machine run louder (this may have been a contributing factor for the device to become louder). Try avoiding wrap dissolving tablets. The wrapping can accumulate in the pump. When I changed from Finish Quantum to All-In-One the device became quieter again. I binned all Fairy tabs. Lidl tabs clean better than Finish tabs by some margin but are louder though (run it at night though).

2- (Obvious) ensure water can always get to all dirty surfaces directly or indirectly. Run the auto programme and add the Intensive Zone if needed. The result is your crockeries are always clean.

Do not rinse crockeries but remove ALL tomato residue as it will stain the machine and can cause stains on metal that look like rust (comes off the next time though).

3- Even if using tabs, add some rinse aid at low setting. Ensure that all areas where water could accumulate (back of cups/glasses, plastic boxes etc.) are inclined for water to run off. The less water is standing after washing the better the drying (somewhat obvious). Use Extra Drying if the machine is rather full.

Note, we have had Siemens technicians visiting us 5 times (!) until they got it right and replaced several pumps due to noise - quiet as anything again."

"Excellent so far"

Pros: Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

Cons: Expensive

"We have only had this dishwasher for a fortnight, but have been using it daily and are very impressed. It cleans fantastically, and is very quiet. It's capacity is obviously less than that of a standard size dishwasher, but the layout inside is very efficient. The separate cutlery tray is particularly useful."

Siemens IQ-500 SR26T890GB Slimline Dishwasher Freestanding Silver

A lot of us live in apartments these days, so we don’t have enough room for every single appliance going. But this is one appliance that you should have in your kitchen.

As it’s slimline, it only measures 45cms wide so it won’t take up too much space. You can fit plenty in it, though. It holds 10 place settings which is more than enough for a couple or small family.

It’s quiet too. Coming in at 46dB, you’ll hardly even know it’s there.

The SR26T890GB has 6 different programmes as well as 5 different wash temperatures, so it’s really flexible. It’s A rated for wash and dry performance, so you’re assured of great results with every cycle.

The HydroMix setting will look after even your most delicate items so you can put in your champagne flutes without worrying they’ll come out missing a stem!

This dishwasher features Siemens’ VarioFlex baskets, which means the shelves can be moved around so you can find in awkward pots and pans. The racks can be moved too, so you can fit in even the biggest casserole dish.

Another great feature is the SpeedMatic system which will get your dishes really clean. It uses powerful water jets to blast away the dirt and it’s particularly useful for really dirty pots.

Other handy feature is the rinse aid and salt level indicator, so you’ll always know when to top these up, ensuring that you get perfect results with every wash. The ServoLock will virtually close the door for you, so no force is needed and it will stay shut to keep any smells at bay.

Finally there’s the child safety lock. We all know that kids will mess with anything they can get their hands on, and with a smart LED display to fiddle with, it’ll stop little fingers from messing up the cycle.
