"Best cooker purchase ever"
Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good
"This lovely piece of kit has generated Cooker Envy amongst all my friends and has surpassed my own expectations several times over. I had become so used to an old and inefficient cooker that I have had to learn to cook all over again with this beast.
It looks fantastic -a really lovely thing to own and have in the kitchen. It performs as well as it looks. I've only had it a few weeks so can't yet comment on longevity but all the features it claims to have work exceptionally well. The gas ring control knobs are sensitive and very finely adjustable, and are easy to use in action -clever designs. The heat they rings put out is very good and makes griddling a steak in a Le Creuset griddle pan finally possible
The three ovens all perform their wide variety of functions exactly as they are meant to. Preheat time is only a few minutes and they all cook very efficiently. Remember to set the oven temp to 10% below intended when using the fan function. Everything external stays comfortably cool in use.
A few must-dos:
DO get a qualified electrician and approved gas fitter lined up on the day of installation. I thought the cooker was plug-in, as one of the pics showed a standard mains plug on a cable sticking out of the back,. with plenty of cable on it. In reality there ie ONE INCH of cable sticking out of the back and it is necessary to fit thick heavy-duty big grey flat cable like one usually finds in the walls of houses -sorry I don't know the spec but it is in the product info. This needs to be fitted to the terminals inside the cooker so the back has to be removed (about 10 screws hold the back on).
The gas inlet is on the left of the back of the cooker (or right if you are standing behind it) so if your existing cooker has a feed on the right of the machine (as you stand in front of it) you may need a longer gas hose fitted (I did).
DO use AO's disposal service which at £9.99 is a bargain -but you will need your gasman in to disconnect the old cooker first and cit off the electrical cable if there is one.
Once your new treasure is installed, run all the ovens for 2 hours at top temp to burn off the smell that appears on first use, which would taint your food. The smallest oven must not be on for more than 30 mins continuously (it is a grill really) so you may have to repeat the cooking-off procedure for this one.
I am really really happy with this cooker which, so far, is everything it says it is, and much more than I had hoped for in terms of efficiency and ease of use.
Service and communications from AO were first-rate and I will definitely use them again when I next need to replace an appliance."
