Pros: Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good
"As someone who has always used a gas oven I was very wary and relying on advice from other people. There is no way at all I would ever go back to my old oven now.
I find myself using the excellent Circo Therm setting most often. This makes little mess and gives a really even heat. You need to just bear in mind that dropping the temperature 10-20deg from recipes based on a convection oven is a really good idea. One thing I would advise is to read and follow the instructions for shelf heights ad roastng temperatures. The temperatures will seem lower than you are used to, perhaps, but they work.provided you keep the glass housingof the lamps clean you can see what you are cooking clearly; it is very well illuminated.
The other cooking modes definitely work as described in the instructions which seem to have been put together by someone who actually cooks. By the way, the defrost mode works. Really. It actually cuts the time for defrosting of, say, a frozen cheesecake in half.
This is a handsome oven. It's very unobtrusive but screams build quality. The controls pop away into the chassis when not in use. This is not just a gimmick but a really useful feature when cleaing and makes the oven look great. I like the way it isn't like the console on a space ship. Others might prefer a more gadget appearance, of course.
The controls are just so easy to use. Select the mode with one dial, select the temperature with the other. It takes a bit of getting used to the timer function and how to set it, but it makes sense and gives you several automatic modes and just a plain old beeper as a timer. You can also switch the light on to help clean. They really are completely fuss free - no baffling menus to deal with. I've never once noticed the controls getting warmer than just a bit noticeably warmer than they were when it was off. They certainly don't get hot. in fact hardly any heat at all escapes from the front of the oven.
In use it is very very quiet; except for the beeper which is usefully noisy and insistent without being hideous. The doors stay very very cool even when roasting at a high temperature so no burned kiddie fingers here. There is little waste heat from the side of the oven, the kitchen units don't get hot at all, in fact you can tell how well the oven is insulated by how long it stays hot when you stop cooking and leave the doors closed. If you like to clean soon after cooking you might need to leave the door open.
Size? It's as big as it is. It'll take all but the most ludicrous Christmas turkey. What's more, it won't struggle to cook it because the heat is circulate round the oven so well it won't take an hour to recover from just haivng the bird put in.
Cleaning the oven is as easy as any other oven. The side rails clip in and out easily so you can clean them and clean behind them. The enamel coating is smooth and high quality and will stand up to a bit of vigorous rubbing as and when required. A really useful feature is that you can remove the doors with ease. This makes cleaning that bit where things drip into next to the hinges easy to clean out. You know where I mean!
The top oven actually works! Seriously, for stuff that isn't very high and will fit on one shelf it genuinely heats things up and bakes really well. It's not just an afterthought and a grill only that sort of half cooks/half burns your food if you ever try to use it as an oven. Both grills are huge and extremely good.
Build quality is awesome. It's like a tank. If you get the chance to see it before it's fitted take a look at the thing. It's all superbly finished with no straggly bits and shoddiness hidden away. If you've ever endured a flimsy budget cooker before and you're deciding if you get what you pay for - you do! All the controls feel like they are attached to the oven instead of grimly clinging on until the day they choose to snap off in your hand. The doors are solid and don't wiggle on the hinges. They also work extremely well as a temporary shelf when inspecting food.
In summary, and in case you couldn't tell, I love this oven. I've been using it for a number of weeks, now, and I'm not discovering any annoying niggles. I'm very glad I followed the advice of someone who told me to get one. If you love baking then you really can't go wrong here."
