"A change you will not regret"
Pros: Value for money, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good, easy enough to use once you get to grips, great wash times, washes well with very little washing gel, child lock, useful tune to tell you its finished, fault finder app
Cons: Expensive, compicated manual, slightly annoying tune, design make it larger than stated
"Having had a hotpoint 1600spin 7kg I was struggling to get another machine with the spec I wanted and in the make I prefered. After much reviewing I chose Samsung Eco Bubble.
My initial worries were the size of the machine - for anyone thinking of purchasing the Eco Bubbles please allow an extra 5cm to the sizes quoted. The sizes quoted are not incorrect but they do not totally take into account the "bowed" design and the dial and doors. So in my case the 1600 spin i initially looked at stated it was 60cm but in reality it was 65 so would not fit in the utility room at the door. This lead me to the 1400spin at 55cm - again in reality its volume takes up the 60cm so Perfect!
Next the spin speed. I was really concerned about moving down a spin speed - I had no need. This machine drys better on the spin that the 5 year old 100spin hotpoint ever did.
Samsung could do with a better manual as it doesnt totally explain everything. However you get the jist after a few goes.I just personally prefer the idiots guide of this icon means x, this button means Y.
So machine is delivered, plugged in an ready to go. Once I figure out they basically recommend you dont use a washing ball due to the machine calibration and to use the first slot in the dispenser drawer with the wee blue bit supplied fitted so not to overfill with liquid soap.
There is a good selection of washes and to be honest we mainly use the daily wash that takes 1hr and 3min. You can increase this for longer soaks etc but so far we havent felt the need. The clothes come out lovely and clean and not very wet. We have also used the daily 15min wash - perfect for the wee rinses.
I also would advise popping into ikea and getting a wash bag to put your little items or bras in - for £3 its far cheaper than the wire killing your machine.
The machine I find compared to my old machine very very quiet - yes if in the same room you can hear it however it is a washing machine filling with water and spinning so it is going to make a noise unless its not working.
When the machine is finished it plays a tune - rather an annoying tune but after a few goes you laugh and start humming it. you do have the option to turn it off like I did but i warn you you will end up putting it back on as I always knew my machine had finished as the house shook, the fact that this is so quiet it finishes and you dont know until the tune sounds - very handy if you ask me.
The machine when finished does automatically switch itself off, some may like or may not, personally i like as my OH had a bad habit of taking the washing out and leaving the power still on. So to me it a great safety feature.
It has a child lock which if you have adventurous kids is very handy.
The thing I had problems with was finding the half load - save yourself time, there isnt one. The machine seems to allow for the load that is in and the wash time quite rightly doesnt need adjusted its the volume of water etc that does so i suppose it does make sense and you do get used to it.
The machine itself looks good but if I had any faults with it is would be the door just sticks out a bit more than necessary plus it doesnt seem as solid as my old machine - its secure but hmmm could be better.
Some reviewers say about little things getting caught in the drum at door - I can say honestly this has only happened one in the last month and I must do at least 10 washes a week minimium.
Samsung are a bit of a nightmare with their warranty. I am still waiting a month later for it and they say it could take another couple of months - not ideal but hey I have proof I sent the warranty details so I have back up.
If you have an andriod phone you have a fault finder app that if your machine did develop a fault you press a couple of button on the machine, scan with your android phone and it tells you whats the problem. Yes I have tried it and yes it did tell me there was no problem - which I knew but I wanted to see how it worked"
