"Brilliant Family Washer"
Pros: Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good
"This washer will enhance any kitchen with its appearance and neat curved front. The dial and display are very easy to see and use. The 600mm width fits in snug in between kitchen units and it’s easy to connect and fit. The appliance has an A+++ top energy rating which means it’s very economical to use and has a variety of different settings. With an 8kg load and 1400rpm spin speed it’s an ideal washer for a large family.
Besides the normal sort of settings there are extra programmes covering a variety of needs, like the “Baby Care” programme which washes at a hotter cycle, with extra rinses to ensure clothes come out clean and detergent free. The “Outdoor Care” cycle looks after sports wear, waterproof items & special finish garments. The “Quick Wash” will wash a maximum 2kg load in a minimum of 15 minutes but this does depend on temperature setting, load, water pressure etc. The only downside on this quick wash is that the maximum spin speed can only be 800rpm. However you can just flick the programme dial to “spin” afterwards and select 1400rpm but of course this does take longer.
On most of the programmes it is possible to select the temperature, spin speed, rinse hold, pre-wash, soak, extra rinse, intensive and Rinse+.
The machine operation is very quiet. When turned on it gives out a musical greeting and also at the end of the wash, however this facility can be turned off. I do find this useful when the wash has finished as I tend to forget about it! There is also a child lock which can be activated so that little hands cannot fiddle with the controls.
There is also a delay start button for up to 19 hours. Another useful point is that within the first 5 minutes you can pause the wash, enabling you to add those forgotten socks etc that you always find on the floor!
The door has a 1 minute lock release at the end of each cycle, is very easy to open, with the catch being on the inner part, giving a really neat appearance.
The self cleaning detergent drawer pulls out easily and as the Ecobubble machine mixes the water with detergent first, it is best to use the detergent drawer rather than a washball or tablets in the drum.
An additional facility in this technological age is the “Smart Check” which is mentioned in the manual. This can be used by downloading the Samsung app (Galaxy S, Galaxy S2, IPhones 4 & 5) and following the simple instructions in the manual. This should then detect and diagnose problems early and give quick & easy solutions. However I have not been able to use this as I do not have a compatible phone.
Overall this is a lovely, easy to use washing machine, great for busy families with its large 8KG load capacity."
