At just 30cm wide the Zanussi ZEI3921IBA is known as a ‘domino’ hob, due to the way the two individual heat zones are laid out. It’s an excellent way to make the most of a small worktop; or if you’ve already got a full size hob, but it’s not quite big enough, you can install this domino model right next to it for extra cooking space.
Induction zones are far more efficient than normal ceramic hobs, as they use magnets to transfer energy rather than a normal heating element. It’s excellent for saving money, as you won’t ever have heat escaping around the sides of your pan and as a result, your food cooks twice as fast than on a standard hob. It’ll boil a pint of water in just 90 seconds, which is twice as quick as a normal kettle, and very handy for getting pasta cooked even more quickly.
The larger of the two zones measure 18cm across, so it’s perfect for the average frying pan, while the smaller is 14.5cm. You won’t have to spend extra using a big zones to heat a small pan, if you’re just heating up soup for one.
Controlling both the zones is dead easy, as there is a dial for each one. Each zone has 9 separate power levels, so you’ve got low heats for melting chocolate as well as high heats for searing cuts of meat and keeping all the juices in.
