The Smeg A2PY-8 Range Cooker comes in a contemporary stainless steel colour. The A2PY-8 has an efficient A/B energy rating. This Range Cooker has a multifunctional oven.
The A2PY-8 main cavity capacity is 60 litres, which means plenty of space to cook for larger families. The flame safety device senses when the flame has been extinguished and automatically cuts off the gas supply preventing a dangerous gas leak. To offer peace of mind the Smeg A2PY-8 free standing Range Cooker also comes with a 1 year warranty.
Still learning how to make best use of the oven functions but the first time I made Yorkshire puddings they were great so everything else should be ok. Knocks my old range cooker into a cocked hat! Had a 'self clean' (ie pyrolitic oven) in the 1970s but it was an inferior cooker (not Smeg)so having one again is super - much better than getting down on hands and knees to clean it! Only drawback is both ovens aren't the same, so when it is just the two of us and I could use the small oven to do a meal for two, the thought of the cleaning makes me use the large one, hence using more fuel.

Brought the Smeg Pyrolitic range cooker for the quality and look. The pyrolitic function is fantastic as you never have to clean your oven again or pay for a cleaning company!
It looks absolutely stunning and you will certainly be the envy of the street!
The only down sides to this range cooker is the weight as it will require 4 people move with ease! Two people and you will struggle to move.
The pan draw at the bottom is very flimsy and there is ZERO space behind for services to be connected as mentioned by other people.
Luckily i had a stud wall and was able to make a void behind.
Perhaps some better design needs thought by smeg, but on a whole a lovely piece of kit.

Smeg A2PY-8 Range Cookers
Whoever designs these cookers at Smeg really must not test out the design during pre-production runs.
The back of the cooker is not recessed like my previous cooker. So there isn't much room for the gas and electrical fittings when pushed back to a wall. The gas fitter had to work some magic for it to fit in to the place our previous one came out of.
Even though the internal oven dimensions are bigger than my previous cooker, some how they have managed to waist this space by the design of the racks which also only have 4 height settings where my previous cooker had 8.
The smaller oven of the 2 is a little narrower thanks to the design than other range cookers I have had. Proving difficult to get good quality trays and tins that will fit.
The timer is a bit on the quiet side.
The rottiserie in the large oven doesn't look like it will take a decent size bird due to the placement in the oven. Too close to the top.
On a positive note the gas burners seem to be more powerfull than my previous cooker and do not lose power when all are lit.

A great cooker, very quiet easy to clean.
The plates on top of the burners being level makes it good for positioning and moving saucepans around.
A lot more efficient then our old range cooker and as a very good energy rating.
Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks good, Quiet, Value for money
