Ultimate performance, no cable! The BCH61840GB cordless compact vacuum from Bosch promises the same cleaning performance as a conventional cleaner. It powers through dust and dirt to give thorough cleaning results thanks to the efficient bagless technology and HighPower AllFloor brush to cover hard floors right through to fluffy carpets. The battery takes just 6 hours to charge and you get an extra long run time of up to 40 minutes. It’s been designed for the ultimate comfort, weighing just 3kg with a soft grip handle. You get a generous 0.9 litre dust capacity which is really easy to empty when you need to.
I have been incredibly impressed with the suction ability of this little, lightweight vacuum cleaner. It picks up more than I ever expected. The maneuverability of the cleaner is brilliant, it lays almost completely flat to allow you to clean under tables and chairs and has a great pivot on the head to help get around corners. Having no cable is fab when you want to hoover the stairs and multiple rooms, it makes cleaning much quicker without having to unplug the cable in each room. The container looks small but holds a surprising amount. I have been a little dissappointed with the battery life, it says up to 40 hours but when used on the turbo setting you are lucky to get 2 hours, this is fine as it allows you to clean the whole house, but if you forget to put it back on charge it is very frustrating when the cleaner suddenly stops mid clean and you are left with it needing to charge for a few hours.
I think for the money I had expected at least one attachment to allow for cleaning around the corners of the stairs, skirting board and even in the edges of the sofa so it was disappointing to find that there are no attachments at all. The side suction from the head is good enough to clean the edges but doesn't quite get into the corners on the stairs.
The roller in the head is easy to clean and is removed at the click of a button, this is great if you have long haired pets as it stops your cleaner getting clogged and loosing suction.
It is very quite and all in all I have been very impressed with it, however, I do really miss an attachment so I think it would be wise to spend a little more and upgrade to the next model.

Sleek design and easy to use
Overall it's really fab... It moves around very easily and as its chordless there isn't the headache of having to drag a chord around with you. Only negative is that the battery doesn't seem to last very long. I live in a spacious 1 bedroom flat and I just manage to hoover it all on turbo mode, before the battery runs out.

Great vacuum, a little noisy on full power but worth the money

My review of the Bosch Wireless Vacuum
Fantastic new piece of kit. It's incredibly light and fantastic to whip out for quick and easy cleaning. No need to drag a heavy corded vacuum cleaner around the house anymore and was surprised at how much it managed to collect. One week into using and it's already packed with hair and string, the only downside was that I had to cut them out to clean it out. The instruction manual wasn't the easiest to follow, but when I decided to use my common sense it was really simple and probably didn't really need a manual in the first place!
I think they could have done with explaining the amount of time to charge the device before first use, as I couldn't find it anywhere in the manual - I needed to look online.
In all, it was great and would definitely recommend to others!

Light and easy on all floors
I'm not a purist and don't worry about a little fluff but that said, I find this light and easy to use with the result that it gets used more than I would ever dream of using a traditional vacume clearner. I hate housework at the best of times, and vacumming even comes after ironing for me so I am delighted with this product. It's great for hard floors and carpet, the only trial I haven't been able to give has been on cat hairs, shortly to be rectified I hope.

I tried the Bosch BCH61840GB_BK.
This Vacuum cleaner is so lightweight it feels like a toy but don’t be fooled it packs a serious punch when it comes to cleaning. It is fast, powerful and very manoeuvrable. The fact it is cordless means you are not unplugging and re-plugging as you go from room to room and there is no tugging at a wire that has got caught on a sofa leg or under a door. You can do 3 bedrooms, bathroom, stairs, living room & kitchen on a single charge so is very economical too.
My husband has always hated vacuuming and used to only do it if severely nagged so I asked him to try it to get his opinion and he thinks it is great, a joy to use. In fact for the first, second, third, fourth and fifth time in 39 years he has vacuumed without being asked. He has even vacuumed the garage floor which is concrete!
There are three flies in the ointment though, not in any order: –
1. The dirt container is small and fills quickly I had to empty it twice when doing the whole house and although it wasn’t full I emptied it again when I finished.
2. It does not come with any attachments! This for me was THE baddie. I couldn’t use it to clean the sofa, the edges of fitted carpets or around radiator pipes. The risers of the stairs were also a bit difficult.
3. It doesn’t do edge to edge cleaning, which might have helped get to the edges of fitted carpets.
The booklet that comes with it obviously is meant for more than one model and shows attachments which sort of “rubs salt in the wound” and there seems to be some differences in the way the charge indicator works but the booklet and illustrations are really clear and really good.
I would happily recommend the Bosch BCH61840GB_BK to anyone, but IF they added the attachments I’d definitely sing its praises more highly.
