Experience luxurious, barista quality coffee at home with this bean-to-cup espresso machine from Sage by Heston Blumenthal. By automatically grinding, dosing and tamping the beans, this model controls the most complex part of the process, so creating delicious, smooth coffee is easy. The milk can be textured automatically or manually, allowing you to personalise each beverage to your taste. The Over Pressure Valve helps to prevent bitter flavours in the espresso and the dual boiler provides hot water on tap - ideal for Americanos and pre-heating your cups.
This machine does produce a very good cup of coffee. The grinder is quiet and adjustable, though it has a major flaw: it continues to operate even when there are no beans left in the hopper. The only ways to stop it are to add beans or presumably switch off the machine altogether. This seems a significant design fault.
The quantity of coffee beans used is not adjustable, though pretty much everything else to do with the extraction and milk conditioning is.
The output from this machine is very good and can be refined using the reasonably straightforward menus.
The real question for prospective purchasers is how much do you want to spend on a large well designed, though not especially well finished (notably the drip tray cover which seems flimsy) product with which to make a cup of coffee. If you enjoy the challenge of fine tuning and place a high value on appearance then this may be for you. If you just want a good cup of coffee, I am sure there are ways to achieve that and still have several hundred pounds in your account.
The Oracle replaced my 20year old Gaggia Classic espresso machine. The difference in taste of the coffee from the two machines was instantly noticeable. The Oracle produced a far superior coffee with subtle flavours and no harshness. The cappuccino produced is as good as that obtained from a specialist coffee house. Although the machine is expensive, I am pleased with the end result.
Pros: Ease to use, Good build qualityCons: Expensive, Noisy

The Oracle is the best machine I have had so far. I love the Oracle's grinding and tamping system; so easy and convenient to use, no more wasted coffee and improper tampering. The Oracle is very easy to keep clean. The Oracle has dual boilers, espresso and milk can be prepared at the same time. Too many nice features to talk The duel boilers are great and make multitasking easy. The foaming wand it quality and can produce great foam. The grinder and tamper are great and nice to have on the machine itself. The reservoir is big and can handle just over a weeks worth of espressos for 2. It looks great and you feel like you get the value for the money. It's easy to clean and maintain. . Overall, great machine. I love it!!!!
Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Value for moneyCons: None
