This really is the full shebang for home entertainment. The BH9540TW gives you a whopping 1460 Watts of 9.1 surround sound! This will give you that full cinema experience when you’re watching your 3D Blu-rays. The unit also has Smart tech so you can get catch-up apps like BBC iPlayer by connecting up to your home’s Wi-Fi. There’s also a trio of upscaling features with 2D to 3D, HD to 4K and standard definition to HD all possible! This means you can watch your DVDs in near to HD quality and early 4K telly adopters can get the best possible image for their set.
Four front-firing 180 Watt Tall Boy speakers are each given a 90 Watt upward driver to bounce sound off your ceiling! Completing the set-up is a 180 Watt centre channel and a 200 Watt subwoofer to give you 1460 Watts of full 9.1 boom. The speakers have Aramid Fiber cones which take away distortion and give you better clarity.
Connect the home entertainment centre up to your telly using a HDMI cable. And, to connect content from a Hard Drive, use the USB 2.0 port. A radio antenna, mic input and Ethernet ports are also all included.
We think this box of tricks is great. But, don’t just take our word for it, check out the awards this clever unit has won from industry experts. Recommendations from AV Forums don’t come lightly so this product really can take a bow!
Filled with clever stuff, the home entertainment system gives you access to the LG App store where you’ll find BBC iPlayer, Netflix, YouTube and more! There are also films on demand and all your favourite social media. Sharing content is also made easy as the unit has Bluetooth. Pair your smartphone and you can share songs, videos and embarrassing holiday snaps! As the home entertainment system has Wi-Fi built-in you can use LG’s remote app. This will turn your Smartphone into the remote! The app also has a private mode function which lets you listen to your telly through headphones connected to your smartphone.
The machine reads 3D Blu-rays so you can enjoy your favourite films in screen-popping 3D – just don’t forget your 3D specs! DVDs also get a 3D makeover with the 2D to 3D upscaler.
The home entertainment system is a perfect match if you’ve already got yourself a fancy new 4K telly, or plan on upgrading in the future as it will upscale HD to 4K. That’s 3840 pixels × 2160 lines of ultra HD goodness instead of your standard 1920 x 1080 Full HD.
I recommend this to a friends good quality thanks.

Had this for a few weeks now.
Set up is easier than expected having read other reviews.
Yes there is volumes of decibels on tap but not in a brash sort of way. The sounds produced are clear and bright with the bass in the background where it needs to be when watching a movie.
That's not the point of this system, in my opinion.
The blu ray player is top of the line and most of what you pay is purely for this. 4k upscaling isn't a cheap add on. It's features like this and the coding of the sound tracks into 10 speakers that costs.
It's worth it if you want pure movie sound witjout the addition of mega bass.
There is an on board equaliser if you need to up the bass line but you really don't need it.
BIG cinema sound in your living room.
Cheap at the price really.

Amazing piece of kit....
If you are into your movies and surround sound then look no further. This is the best surround sound you can buy out of the box without getting an AV receiver separates system.
Easy to setup and very customisable. Would recommend to anyone.
Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks good, Value for money

Very good but some operational issues
I recently moved to a flat and had to let my fairly high end system go. However, I missed surround sound so selected this system which avoided wires from front to back. Not bothered that it goes quite loud being so close to neighbours but I am impressed by the sound quality. In some ways I prefer it to my previous setup. Not convinced yet though by the upward firing speakers and I find bypass mode better.
Not so good is the remote response which is terribly slow. Also, there is no HDMI bypass as there is on a separates receiver which means that to access anything connected via HDMI needs the system to be switched on

This home theatre system is just simply awesome.
I had an older LG surround sound unit which I wanted to replace along with a Bluray player and optical splitter, effectively swapping 3 boxes for one. This meant the a simpler setup and wires.
I was expecting an improvement with the new system being 9.1 and watching Blurays, but I wasn't expecting there to be much of a difference with general Sky viewiing. Even with general viewing, there is a big improvement in quality. I even beleive that the picture quality is better when running sky through the LG via HDMI (but there's a chance I'm imagining it). There's also fact that you can use it to watch Amazon Prime (so effectively it has replaces 3 boxes and A Fire Stick) which is an added bonus. Although loading Amazon Prime, loading groups of shows and searching is quite slow - but this is most likely the app and not the unit itself.
Awesome peice of kit, my only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner.
