Powerful ventilation and easy to keep clean. At 70cm wide the Baumatic BT7.3GL is ideal for hobs of the same width. With a top extraction rate of 500m³/h it’s well suited to big kitchens. It’s surprisingly quiet, making just 52dB of noise which isn’t much at all – great for open plan kitchens. The metallic grease filters are excellent at getting rid of the smells and steam from your cooking. To clean them, just pop them in a sink of soapy water. It’s a great way to save on the cost of constantly replacing them.
Cooker hoods are designed to remove steam and odours from your kitchen by pulling in air and cleaning it. The extraction rate determines how quickly this can be done. This model has three extraction speeds to choose from, so it’s great for clearing the air in your kitchen quickly. Select the lowest setting when you’re simmering or steaming food and the highest setting for frying and strong-smelling food.
With a noise level of 45db, this cooker hood is a great option for open plan living. It operates very quietly, so you can enjoy your favourite TV programme, radio show or music channel without distraction from the extraction fan.
Suitable for 70cm hobs
When you’re looking for a cooker hood to suit your kitchen space, you want to make sure that it’s the right size. This model would look fantastic above a 70cm wide hob and would be able to remove the amount of steam generated by a hob of this size – making it ideal for a standard-sized kitchen.
Extraction and recirculation
When it comes to extracting air, you can choose to vent it externally or recycle air back into your kitchen. If you can connect a ventilation hose to an external wall, the cooker hood will draw air in and push it outside. If your kitchen layout doesn’t allow for this, charcoal filters will remove unwanted odours and smoke, before releasing the clean air back into your kitchen. This means your kitchen will always be nice and refreshed – whatever layout you have.
Medium extraction rate
The amount of air that can be removed from your kitchen in an hour depends on how powerful the extraction rate of your cooker hood is. This model has a medium extraction rate, which means it’s ideal for clearing steam, smoke and cooking smells from a standard-sized kitchen.
It's a great looking product and well proportioned. It worked very well for just under 2 weeks! Then the motor started making rattling grinding noises and when used started running slower and slower the longer it was in use. It would reach a point when there was very little (if any) difference between 1, 2 and 3 speed settings. The extraction is of course very poor now compared to how good it was in the first 2 weeks. Sometimes after being switched off when hot, it would refuse to start again. This was not due to any cut out as power was still being supplied to the motor and you could feel it humming, it just refuses to turn until cool again. After searching on the net it seems the motor becoming noisy and is poor extraction is not an uncommon problem.
Baumatic were contacted and failed to make their first appointment, I am waiting for them to make their next appointment in a few days. Worryingly even though the fault has been described, apparently engineers carry no spares. So I don't know how long it will take to get fixed and/or whether they will simply make a lot of excuses and l;eave me with a white elephant of a cooker hood.

Not the worst extractor.
For the price it's a reasonable extractor.
Looks good but lacks good suction.
Not the quietest

Stylish Chimney Hood
Looks stylish and the curved glass is a nice feature. The two lights give good light to the hob. A bit noisy when fan running at higher speeds. Not supplied with charcoal filters- so you need to buy these on ebay if the chimney is set for re-circulation mode.

Bought this to replace our extractor, which after 6
years finally gave up.
As we were happy the old model we decided to replace it with the same model.
We have this ducted out and it works brilliantly.
Completely satisfied and despite other posts saying it's noisy, all I can say is ours is not.
