The Rangemaster CLAS90LPFCR/C Range Cooker comes in a cream / chrome colour. The CLAS90LPFCR/C has an efficient A energy rating. This Range Cooker has a gas conventional oven oven.
The CLAS90LPFCR/C main cavity capacity is 66 litres, which means plenty of space to cook for larger families. The flame safety device senses when the flame has been extinguished and automatically cuts off the gas supply preventing a dangerous gas leak. To offer peace of mind the Rangemaster CLAS90LPFCR/C free standing Range Cooker also comes with 2 years warranty.
We live in the countryside with no mains gas and the old cooker was struggling to cope with the demands of feeding 2 adults a 3 kids. After a good deal of research I plumped for the Rangemaster even though it was considerably more money than the Zanussi cooker I was looking at as an alternative. My reasoning was that with a total capacity of this oven of about 134L, this should cope with family get togethers as well as the day to day cooking tasks so it was less likely to become redundant. I was also confused by the term 'LPG Conversion'. For many cookers this applies only to the hob, so fine if the oven(s) are electric, but my understanding is that you can't convert a natural gas oven, (although confusingly I have since been told otherwise), so in the end I decided on a factory LPG cooker as I thought it safer. Also, its worth noting that this is a dual fuel cooker with the side oven being a fan-electric. This can be plugged into a normal 13A socket which is great. The cooker itself appears to be well made, and is reassuringly heavy. The controls are well laid out, my only niggle being it is hard to see them due to the rail across the front. Early days yet but first impressions are that the gas oven takes a little while to get going, but food is nice and moist. Plates can be warmed in the grill cavity when this is on. Fan oven did a nice job on the roast potatoes at the weekend, and its really great to have the flexibility of 2 proper ovens. It looks and feels like a retro range, and the cream enamel finish reinforces this. Overall it has a premium feel which helps me to justify the cost, but it is just a shame that if you need LPG you have to pay through the nose.
