Miele CM6110 Review
If you're looking for a machine that takes the fuss out of making great coffee, look no further.
The Miele CM6110 is packed full of fancy tech to achieve an impressive level of automation. Simply load it up with coffee and select you chosen drink, and that's it! It couldn't be simpler.
I did have great expectations; given this is a high-end coffee machine. But I certainly can't fault the quality of the coffee that this produces. I've tried every setting and each coffee type tastes superb (so long as you're using decent beans). The way this handles milk-based drinks is also really impressive. Espressos are amazingly rich with a great crema. Milk is also frothed really well.
It's laden with sensors, to tell you everything it ever needs, so it's a doddle to maintain. It does clean itself quite frequently (which some people find irritating), but I don’t see this as a drawback.
It's a beautifully designed appliance that sits comfortably in any modern kitchen. On the whole, it's also really well built and feels like it will stand the test of time.
Having used the Miele machine for the last week, there are only a couple of niggles worth mentioning:
The right-hand access door is a little flimsy, which is noticeable given the build quality everywhere else. This might seem a bit picky, but it is worth noting – especially if you frequently need to access the milk tube.
Secondly, the machine doesn't have a 'Flat White' setting, as a default. So if this is your coffee of choice, you might be better looking elsewhere (or hope that it's possible to update the firmware to achieve this). That said, through the customised settings, you can pretty much achieve anything you could ever dream up.
In all, it’s an brilliant machine that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to a friend.
Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks goodCons: Expensive, No 'Flat White' setting
