Powerful extraction without taking over. Made to be built into your wall-mounted cupboards the Neff D5855X0GB canopy cooker hood is very discreet and still offers a maximum extraction rate of 650m³/h – more than enough for a large kitchen. There are metallic grease filters too which catch the steam and odours. They’re really easy to clean – just pop them in the dishwasher and they’re ready to reuse.
Cooker hoods are designed to remove steam and odours from your kitchen by pulling in air and cleaning it. The extraction rate determines how quickly this can be done. This model has three extraction speeds to choose from, so it’s great for clearing the air in your kitchen quickly. Select the lowest setting when you’re simmering or steaming food and the highest setting for frying and strong-smelling food.
With a noise level of 72db, this cooker hood is on the louder side of the decibel scale. This model is more suitable for larger kitchen spaces. If you want something a little quieter, take a look at models ranging from 45db to 66db.
Suitable for 75cm hobs
When you’re looking for a cooker hood to suit your kitchen space, you want to make sure that it’s the right size. This model would look fantastic above a 75cm wide hob and would be able to remove the amount of steam generated by a hob of this size – making it ideal for a standard-sized kitchen.
Extraction and recirculation
When it comes to extracting air, you can choose to vent it externally or recycle air back into your kitchen. If you can connect a ventilation hose to an external wall, the cooker hood will draw air in and push it outside. If your kitchen layout doesn’t allow for this, charcoal filters will remove unwanted odours and smoke, before releasing the clean air back into your kitchen. This means your kitchen will always be nice and refreshed – whatever layout you have.
Medium extraction rate
The amount of air that can be removed from your kitchen in an hour depends on how powerful the extraction rate of your cooker hood is. This model has a medium extraction rate, which means it’s ideal for clearing steam, smoke and cooking smells from a standard-sized kitchen.

Half way through an Ikea kitchen refit and the new cooker hood was found to be too big to fit the housing. It was Saturday afternoon, and the kitchen fitter was keen to finish. Chose one from AO, downloaded the dimensions from the Neff website to make sure, and received it Sunday morning. It fitted and works perfectly. Price was excellent with £100 part exchange. Just hope it lasts the 28 years the original Neff hood was going for! Cannot fault AO at all. Amazing service and price.
