Bought this along with an LG B6 OLED 65 inch. As 4K discs are a bit thin on the ground at the moment, I'm obviously still using all my 1080 Blu Rays.
To be honest, the upscaling from the UB900 is simply amazing. To my untrained eye, the quality is simply stunning. I've bought three 4K discs so far and I would say that there isn't any discernible difference seated 2.5 metres from the screen.
The colours are amazing and the detail is beyond what I've seen with the same movies on an older Blu Ray player and 1080 screen.
Setup is straightforward and the UB900 has its own smart platform and access to Netflix, etc.
The unit itself looks great and has a decent remote.
Overall, yes it's expensive, but I'd say it's worth it.
Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks goodCons: Expensive

Panasonic UB900 Review
It’s not often you get the chance to review a product that lives up to its hype, so I’m delighted to report that Panasonic’s flagship 4K HDR Blu-ray player, the DMP-UB900, does exactly that.
The picture quality is astonishing. The image on my 58-inch 4K TV was pin sharp and the colours far more lifelike than I had ever seen on any TV screen. But what surprised me most was the sense of depth – in some scenes, it almost felt as if I was watching in 3D. As promised, HDR delivers darker blacks and brighter whites. But it does far more than that, bringing out detail that would usually be lost in shadows and highlights.
As for the sound, that’s excellent too, delivering an unexpected clarity and punch through my TV’s built-in speakers.
The UB900 handles standard bluray discs equally well. Upscaling results in a clear, crisp picture and a noticeably wider range of colours than my previous player had delivered. On one or two discs, I did notice some granularity and the occasional motion judder, but nothing too distracting.
In addition, the UB900 is a more-than-capable media streamer as well as a file playback unit capable of displaying photographs and videos from a range of devices, such as laptops, tablets and mobile phones.
I only have two gripes with the UB900, and both are minor ones. The unit, although undeniably attractive, is a dust and fingerprint magnet: keeping it looking shiny is not easy. Also, the handset is a bit of a beast. It does exactly what it’s supposed to, but a top-end machine such as this deserves a simpler, more elegant ‘controller’.
4K HDR content may currently be limited to a handful of blu-rays and a number of series on streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon, but the list is growing fast. And while you’re waiting for new releases you can still play your existing media on the UB900.
All in all, this is an impressive piece of kit. If you’re in the market for a blu-ray player that delivers jaw-dropping picture and sound quality, look no further.
Pros: 4K media streaming, Amazing picture quality, Good build quality, Great sound, Home networkCons: Cumbersome handset, Difficult to keep clean
