Connection, Disposal, Disconnection
Connection £ 14.99
We want you to get up and running straight away with your new appliance, which is why our expert team will connect your new item to your water pipes and make sure everything is working properly. Connecting it yourself? Make sure you remove the transit bolts. These will make a loud rattling sound if they’re left in place when you run a cycle.
Disposal £ 19.99
We’ll happily take away your old appliance for you and recycle it. All we ask is that it’s disconnected, empty and ready to go. The fee for this service relates to the cost of taking your old appliance away on our van rather than the recycling service.

Amazing results from LG. The motor in the F1496AD5 does away with the belt you’d normally find in a washer dryer and attaches the motor directly to the back of the drum. This makes the whole machine quieter and more durable, and with a top spin speed of 1400rpm it doesn’t lack power. With an 8kg drum, you can wash 40 shirts at once, and dry 12, so there’s plenty of room for the week’s work shirts. And if you use the Quick Wash, you can get them done in just 30 minutes.
I purchased this washer dryer for a second property about four months and I have to say I am most disappointed.
I have an extremely time limited lifestyle, I work long hours and when I get home I often need to wash things immediately. Unfortunately a normal 30 wash seems to take nearly 3 hours (my machine in my main property which is a Bosch only takes about 1.5 hours).
The dryer function for me is next to useless. Functionally it goes through a process of spinning and draining for about 30 minutes before any real drying takes place. This means that, for example, if you have clothes on an airer that are almost dry and you just want to finish them off to get them away this will take over an hour as it doesn't start any actual drying until after the first 30 minutes.
I spoke to LG about the length of time it takes to go through a programme and their response is that this is the way it works as it weighs everything.
Other items of note that are minor:
Generally the machine feels a bit plasticy and cheap (e.g. the dispenser drawer - compared with my bosch which feels very solid).
Usabiliy could do with a bit of through also. On the main panel the on off switch is on the right and the start is on the left. Generally (in the English language anyway) we tend to think from left to right. Therefore there have been a few times that I have turned the machine on. selected the programme, then turned it off instead of pressing the start button as instinctively I go to the far right as my second step. It's just plain annoying.
I purchaed this machine as it has so many good reviews but overall I am really disappointed. This was my first LG purchase and I won't be purchasing LG again. I really regret purchasing it and I wish I had purchsed a bosch like I have in my other property.

Decided to buy this washer dryer but was a bit wary with a few of the reviews I have seen about taking a long time to complete washing and drying cycles and being noisy. However, I have used it quite a few times and think it is great. Can only tell it is running when I am in front of the machine, except for the tunes at the beginning and end - makes a change from beeping! Clothes have been really clean even on the quick wash, and almost dry , although I do change the spin speed to 1400 before pressing the start button. So far I have used wash cycles ranging from 30 minutes to nearly 2 hours. It states in the User Manual that if you don't hit the pause button when drying has finished it can take up to four hours before the machine unlocks. Sure enough, I hit the pause button after setting the machine for 30 minutes drying and the lock released shortly after - it takes no longer than any other machine I have owned previously. Very pleased with it so far...

Good Washer / Dryer
Have had this a few weeks now and I have found it good so far.
The Washer takes a really decent sized load and I have also dried bed linen and towels in the dryer successfully.
The dryer is very, very hot on "cupboard dry" so I wouldn't use that for anything other than the most robust of clothes! However it does completely dry things on that setting which takes 3hrs 50 mins.
I did try the lower temp / shorter drying settings but I think you would have to put a very small load in to use those successfully. It is fine for me though because I only intend to use the dryer a little - in order to be kind to the environment and my clothes!
Found it a bit strange at first that the washer weighs your load before giving you a time for the cycle. However the timings on the Cotton Eco setting were a reasonable length (usually 1hr 40) or you can use the "Quick 30" wash if in a rush. A heavy load of towels obviously will take longer than a small load of shirts or socks and pants!
Like my old machine (Beko - Washer only) you can adjust the spin and temp once you have selected your cycle. This is really useful as it basically enables you to create bespoke cycles.
Unlike some other reviewers I think it looks good - mind you I have it behind a cupboard door in my kichen - as far as I'm concerned no washing machine looks that good that I would want it on show!
I find the tune that plays at the end helpful as I know the cycle has finished!

Best and quietest washing machine I've ever had. Lovely silver finish that looks very smart and expensive. I would highly recommend this machine.
