    Good Machine

Pros:Easy to use, Good build quality, Value for money, versatile

"This machine was chosen based on the different settings it had - you can customise lots of things about your wash; temperature, spin speed, and drying time so you're not limited by an annoying preset. In this respect its more flexable than some others I looked at, however still does have it's limitations: The quickest wash is 35mins long, but the next quickest after that it 1.11mins, it would be nice to have a more inbetweeny option. The machine is a washer-dryer, its a condenser, its quiet, and after a couple of washes there was no 'new dryer smell' which was a pleasent change! The machine is helpful... during a dry cycle, by pressing pause, you can open the door without having to wait for 5 useless minutes like my previous candy machine did! Very helpful when I've noticed i put in something thats not supposed to be in there! You can set the dryer to preset functions or 30, 45, 60mins and it has 2 different intensities cotton/not cotton. The digital display gives a count down, and you can interupt washes if you need to. The machine must be really easy to use, as my idiot boyfriend and flatmate can manage it! This is helped by the user-freindly guide on the front of the machine, which has the setting number, type of wash (colour cotton/synthetics), temperature, (30/40/50/60/90) and a little picture! I'm a university student, I live in a small basement flat with 2 other people, and this machine more than satisfies our washing needs! The machine's great value for money, it does the job really well, looks flashy, is easy to use and I really like it!"

    It washes...

    Pros:Good build quality, 59.5cm width

    Cons:Noisy

"It's a bit boring... not exceptional, but probably okay for the price. The contant pumping noise during the spinning cycle is annoying. Apart from that it's easyish to use... But what can you expect for the price. We also had to fit the machine in a 60cm space which means the washer needed to be a 59.5cm width. This reduced our choice of brand..."

    Bad buy

    Pros:none

Cons:poor quality, Noisy, poor wash quality, very creased clothes when using dryer

"I knew that washer/dryers are poor dryers but finding myself in a position where my old separate machines wouldn't fit into a new kitchen, I figured that as we are now empty-nesters, it wouldn't matter too much if it took hours to dry a load, as I don't do that much washing just for the two of us anyway. So I thought a washer/dryer would be the best option for us. The machine was very noisy and moved around a lot from the start, but I thought this was because it was on a wooden floor, whereas the old machine had been on a concrete one. However, after a few weeks the concrete weight in the top split which could have caused a lot of damage, but fortunately we were home at the time and managed to switch it off straight away before it threw itself around the kitchen. I'd read lots of bad reviews about the Indesit service centre but I have to say they were polite and helpful and arranged an engineer to call within the week. He said the weight must have been cracked when it left the factory but said the machine would have to be repaired rather than replaced which meant waiting another week for someone else to come with the new weight. It's since been much quieter and doesn't move at all so clearly the weight was significantly damaged when we got it but as the packaging was all perfect, it hadn't been damaged in transit, it must have been a factory fault. It's a very poor washer and dryer though. I have white bedding and towels and within a couple of weeks I noticed that everything that had been washed in this machine was looking grey by comparison to things that hadn't yet been washed in it. It doesn't seem to use enough water so I have to use the intensive option for every wash which puts a bit more water in. The dryer is terrible. Washer/dryers dry the clothes by taking in small amounts of water which they heat up to create steam, and the steam dries the clothes. This means that it takes around 4 times longer than a regular vented dryer and almost 3 times longer than a condensing machine. What I didn't twig before I bought it though was that the drum is also obviously much smaller than a regular dryer, so clothes can't tumble in the same way and come out creased. Bedding in particular is dreadful. Some people might have the time and inclination to get it out when it's still damp and iron the creases out, but I don't. Consequently, it takes over 3 hrs to dry one load of bedding, and it's creased as badly as if you'd screwed it into a ball and baked it dry in an oven. Ironing at this point makes no difference, the creases are impossible to remove. Although there are all the basic programme functions that you would expect; there isn't a half load which is annoying, and the quick wash only seems to include a drying function, which allegedly takes only 35mins to wash and dry a load. I haven't tried it, as none of the full wash programmes wash as well as I'm used to, so I can't imagine that the quick wash will be any good at all. How many of these issues are down to it being an Indesit and how many are just features of washer/dryers I don't know, but I don't think I'll be keeping it much longer. I think I'll go back to a regular, cheap washing machine, and a condensing dryer that I'll possibly put in the spare bedroom, it's not ideal, but I find the poor wash quality and creased clothes are unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend this machine to anyone."

    glad i brought.

Pros:Value for money, Easy to use, Quiet

"I needed a new washing machine because mine broke and thought i didn't have a dryer so I'd get a washer/dryer after looking at several more expensive ones i decided to go for this one and i have not been disappointed! it is the quietest machine I've had and the wash time is quicker than my previous ones, the different settings my be a little tricky but once you get used to it it's easy. On most of the wash programs you can change the temp and spin speed and there are 6 different drying settings plus you can choose your own time. the only thing that may put people off is it uses steam to dry and it does take longer than normal dryers."

    Pros:Value for money

    Cons:drying cycles not adjustable

"machine washes well and is fairly easy to use. My only comment is that you cannot set your choice of drying time and temp, it only has set choices and temperature is very high"
