Product Overview

Fabulously frost free. If defrosting your fridge freezer sounds like a nightmare, then look no further than this AEG model. It has a constant flow of cool air throughout the entire appliance, meaning there won’t be any ice build-up! Though it’s a slimline model, there’s tons of capacity. You’re getting 158 litres in the fridge and 88 litres in the freezer, giving a small family lots of space to organise their weekly shop. It’s going to look seamless when built into your kitchen too, as you add your own door to the front, giving a really streamlined look.

    good replacement

Pros:Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good

"Our old John Lewis built in fridge freezer died aged 5 years and 1 month , just out of its guarantee. After extensive web searches and endless reviews ended up with this model. Delivery came on time , a four hour delivery slot , and the two lads were very quick and helpful. I installed it myself as I have done a few in the past. NOTE ... the back legs on the base of this freezer are set right to the back of the unit. Check what your base panel allows as I had to install a slightly deeper panel on top of the original manufacturers cabinet panel. If you do not do this the unit will tilt backwards. You may be lucky and have a deeper panel to suit. Easy to install otherwise with all the necessary fittings supplied. I do wish sometimes that the manufacturers got some DIY people to help them write up their installation manuals though. There was one or two head scratching moments for me and I am a fairly canny lad . My wife is delighted with the fridge area , well laid out, we don't need a wine rack thing so that saves space. Two good veg / salad draws, shelves are adjustable, Freezer the same good draws , plenty of space. Digital readout menu above unit self explanatory and easy to work. Very slight noise from the unit when working but it only kicks in rarely , keeps its temperature very well. You cannot expect a machine like this not to make any noise at all. I find the fan on the oven and the extractor a lot more noisy. Overall a very good appliance , of course its early days , only two months in. Automatic defrost on the freezer a big plus ."

    AEG fridge freezer review

Pros:Value for money, Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet

    Cons:none

"This is my AEG SCN71800S1 Fridge freezer.I'M going to start off with the space in the fridge there is 158 litres capacity good size for a family of 5 the thickness of the shelves am great it also has a metallic trim on the glass shelves that gives it that modern look plus there is 2 deep boxes at the bottom that's ideal to store fresh veg and salad it also has led lighting which is really bright and u can see everything,It has a control panel inside at the top it has alot of different modes it as also got a cool matic feature so when you get back from shopping it will be quickly chilled. There is also a feature called frost matic which is handy for the fridge freezer you can also change the temperature of the fridge and the freezer there is an alarm on it it so which goes of if the door is left open for too long .Moving down to the freezer you get 88 litres capacity which is a good amount of space there is 4 draws which also as a matlic print on them its a good size but what is good about it is frost free which the freezer uses a fan to circulate the cold air around the cabinet so it prevents the build up of ice around the walls and the draws even your food which means you dont have to manully you dont have to defrost it yourself . The only thing i wish it had was handle on the doors"

    AEG Frost Free Fridge Freezer

Pros:Easy to use, Good build quality

"This is an integrated fridge freezer which I managed to install myself. I have been using it for two weeks and so far it is performing to expectation and I am pleased with it. The build quality seems good and both the fridge and freezer compartments are doing what they should. The illuminated temperature displays are helpful, although as it is an integrated appliance, these are only visible when the fridge door is open. The frost free function is particularly appealing, but does mean that it makes some louder than expected coolant "gurgling" and "humming" sounds. I would recommend this AEG frost free fridge freezer."

Looks good; uneven fridge temperature distribution

    Pros:Good build quality, looks good

    Cons:5-6 degrees fridge temperature differential

"This fridge freezer replaced a 12 year old Electrolux built-in and fortunately most of the previous fittings could be used when installing. Its a good looking fridge with a modern metal effect edging to the shelves and salad crispers. The LED lighting is much smarter than the cheaper conventional variety, and there are some modes on the touch panel for fast freezing/cooling. I've not had it long enough to gauge the performance of the frost-free freezer but have no reason to suspect it won't work. No complaints about sound levels. The issue I have is that there seems to be a significant temperature differential in the fridge. Set to 5 or 4 degrees C, it can be lower than this on the bottom shelf (1-2 degrees C) and up to 7 degrees C at the top. There's no fan on this (and most other UK fridges) so simple physics tells you a temperature differential will always exist. I'm not sure if 5-6 degrees difference is normal however, and I suspect there are better fridges for your money when it comes to a more even temperature distribution."
