Innovative, hyper-efficient dishwashing. The SN26T297GB boasts an impressive A+++ energy efficiency rating, making it one of the most efficient machines on the market. It uses zeolith, a clever material that absorbs water and emits heat, to power the drying part of the cycle with no need to invest any more energy. This means it saves you tonnes of money on your monthly bills. Space for 14 place settings means it can fit a whole lot more than your average machine, and with 6 programmes to choose from you can make sure that every wash is tailored to fit your needs.

Pros:Value for money, Good build quality, Quiet, looks good, glass sparkles, lots of adjustability
"This Siemens dishwasher has similarities to the Bosch range, which is understandable as they are from the same company group. So although the Siemens name may be unknown to some, they are manufactured together. So what you get is an upmarket Bosch.
Plumbing in and connection was relatively easy as it just slid into the position vacated by our excellent old Hotpoint of 16 years. A plus point being the built in flood detection in the inlet hose of the Siemens. The door opening is a little stiff, but if you have kids I can see this as a good thing. The controls along the top edge of the door are great, no stooping down to see what you’re doing. Which is just as well as the setting of the language is not intuitive and you have to follow the instructions to the letter. If you miss a step, then we found the secret is to switch it off and close the door. Wait a few seconds and open the door and start again. If not, it (and us) gets confused and the buttons don’t work as they should. It would help enormously if the numbers on the documentation diagram were transferred to the appropriate button locations. This would be an easy thing to do for Siemens when they are printed, hopefully they will take this suggestion on board, soon. We actually considered learning German instead as we thought it would be easier.
Once the language is set though, all is well. The Salt compartment is easy enough to access as is the rinse aid. The tablet door is robust enough and easy to click shut. The controls for usage are clear and easy to use. The Pressure/capacitive sensitive buttons are flat so no need to press hard or anything, just choose the appropriate cycle and press start. Close the door and let it do its magic.
Once closed everything is hidden away, so no prying little fingers to cause havoc. It also looks stunning without the clutter of any buttons. Just the display in the centre to keep you informed of its progress. The delay timer is worth mentioning, as you can fill it up after the evening meal and set and forget it, leaving it to start in the early hours, and finished when you get up in the morning, ready to take out the utensils as the display recommends. Also saves money, if you are on economy overnight tariff.
The build quality is excellent as you would expect when paying a premium price for a product. The sheer versatility of the drawers is great. Raising and lowering of the middle drawer is easy enough and having the ability to just raise/lower one side is inspirational. Enough combinations of moving racks and supports up and down to keep a rocket scientist amused for hours. The top cutlery/utensils drawer is a little contentious for some and I can understand why. We think it is OK, but with reservations. Plastic and silicon utensils do not get cleaned properly sometimes, and always come out wet. So be smart, keep your old cutlery basket, or obtain a new one. Place it in the back right corner of the bottom drawer, and use it for the utensils. Then you have the best of both worlds. Admittedly you lose a little space, but the capacity of the dishwasher is such, that you probably won’t miss it. Besides you can always take it out.
The machine is quiet, that’s a given, but I can still easily hear it in the kitchen when it’s on, but it is in no way annoying. We were very sad to see our old Hotpoint go, but over the moon with the Siemens. Once you get used to it and its little quirks, set the right programme and load it intelligently, everything comes out squeaky clean and sparkling. The Siemens does have a hard act to follow, but it’s doing well and I for one would never be without it."

Cons:poor setup instructions
"This dishwasher is quicker, quieter and more effective than my previous miele (which broke after only 5 years and would have cost over £500 to fix).
Only downsides so far are the very poor installation instructions, counter-intuitive UI for initial setup and stupid blue light, which far from looking nice is very annoying. At least it can be turned off."

Cheap to run
Pros:Easy to use, Good build quality, Quiet, eco heaven
"I like the blue led lights it might be a gimmick but I like it!
The modes the unit has are good and I have been using it for some time. I like the display on the front that tells you just how Eco it is being for each program. The auto temp sensor modes seem to work and clean well and they seem to have the lowest electrical use. Ignore the review on the Siemens site that person has not read the manual.
So empty from the bottom up and don have every thing level to catch all the water! Simples!
It might cost a couple of £££ but the cost of running will help. Plus it will hopefully last.
The draws have many configs and as yet I don't think I have managed to have it 100% full. My last dishwasher needed a wash but I still had plates and cutlery left to use! Now it seems that the unit swallows every plate cup and pan and still is not 100% full but I am 10% empty on clean stuff so its really does hold enough... Christmas day will be the test!.
Even cleans when using the most value of the value tablets...
Also it comes with a hose to connect the cold water.
I am very impressed and the £100 cash back really helped.
