Great light weight steam iron

On using the Bosch TDA2650GB steam iron for the first time I noticed how light it was, great for someone elderly whole finds lifting or holding heavy irons difficult. It's very easy to fill as the water tank is very generous and you can fill straight from the tap. There is a water level gauge so you know where to fill it up to. The special ceramic soleplate makes ironing a dream as it glides over your clothes. Once you've added the water and plugged it in you can set the temperature with the clearly marked temperature dial and there are three different settings for your types of fabric, you can also set the steam function to none, one or two and obviously the higher the number the more steam, there is a button for an extra shot of steam or a water spray to help with stubborn creases or wrinkles I really like this function for jeans or linen. So once the pilot light has gone out you are ready to iron as it has reached the correct temperature. The other functions I like about this iron is the anti calc function which is activated every time you use the steam function. This helps to remove the build up of deposits produced, there is also a manual version. The other great function is the automatic shut off, which will turn the iron off should you leave it laid on its soleplate for more than 30 seconds and if the iron is left in the upright position without moving for 8 minutes. I am very pleased with this iron and would recommend it to anyone who wants to make ironing easier and lighter work of the weekly ironing pile

Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks good Cons: None

Superb Lightweight Iron

I found this iron really easy to use and it does a good job. When filling with water, the inlet is quite big and a marker on the iron shows when it is filled to the maximum level (0.29 litres). The steam control white button at the front turns from 0 (no steam/no drip) 1 (low steam) 2 (max steam) Calc (to steam clean any deposit buildup in the water chamber. There is also a press button for steam shots and another for fine water spray. The 2.5m long cord is ample for use and where it joins the iron it is flexible for left hand/right hand use. A good safety feature is that it switches off after 30 seconds if left face down or 8 minutes if left standing in the upright position. Another great feature is that it can be used horizontally to steam curtains, garments on a hanger etc. By pressing the steam button and holding approx 4 inches away it gives a good shot of steam to help move creases. It is recommended to use only tap water to fill the iron as that should be sufficient, however if you live in a very hard water area you may add a little distilled water too. Overall the iron does a great job, glides along smoothly and is very easy to use.
