Stand Installation, Disposal
Stand Installation £ 44.99
We want you to enjoy your new TV as soon as possible. Rather than messing about with cables and following loads of steps in the instruction manual, let us set it up for you. We'll attach the new TV to the stand that it comes with. If you've bought an additional TV stand, there's a separate installation charge. We'll also tune it in, set up any Smart features and connect up all your existing kit. We’ll even take away the bulky packaging.
Disposal £ 14.99
We’ll happily take away your old TV for you and recycle it. All we ask is that it’s unplugged and ready to go. The fee for this service relates to the cost of taking your old TV away on our van rather than the recycling service. If you've paid for installation, we will recycle your old TV free of charge.

HDR takes 4K viewing to the next level, delivering incredibly vivid, life-like colours that’ll make sure you enjoy the ultimate home cinema experience. Great picture quality, but missing a few important details
This TV is big. Really big. At a little over 136cm wide, you really need to get someone to help you set this up. The remote is uncomplicated and easy to use, and the quad-core processor makes everything move very smoothly.
I've never been 100% convinced about 4K TV's - can your eyes really make out that extra detail? But having seen some of the pictures produced by this set, I am starting to come around. It does depend on the media you are watching, but the right video, well encoded can be stunning. Of course 4K content is not that easy to get hold of at the moment.
The TV does a reasonable job of upscaling SD content - obviously any TV this size will show up the lack of detail in that sort of media. If you have lots of SD content, you need to move towards HD/UHD or look at a smaller screen! Upscaling 720p or 1080p content looks excellent though - in some cases 1080p is almost indistinguishable from 4k. If you can find some 4K content then you are in for a treat.
The sound output from the speakers is probably better than any flat screen TV I have ever come across. Detailed speech coupled with decent bass made it a pleasure to watch with the built-in speakers. Digital optical out or HDMI with ARC is available for connecting to an AV receiver.
App support seems a little patchy at the moment - I believe that "All 4" and "My 5" are promised but not there at the time of writing this review. This model does not feature the "Games" category found on some of the higher models in the range. There is a full web browser, but it feels clunky browsing with a TV remote stick to your phone or tablet! YouTube is present, and some of the 4K content on there is remarkable - it's like you are there. Actually it seems more vibrant, colourful and detailed than real life!!
PVR functionality seems pretty good, but with only a single tuner the TV will be locked when recording anything. If you think about it, that's worse than we had in the 80's with a VHS recorder - at least you could still watch another channel whilst recording something! Timeshifting is not quite perfect either - you need to manually start timeshifting each time the TV is turned on, and you can't access the TV guide while timeshifting either.
Having said all of that though, I did really enjoy watching films on the Samsung. Black levels were excellent thanks to the UHD Dimming feature - we watched one film with no lights on and at one point we were plunged into complete darkness. I couldn't even make out the screen! I'm sure the app support will improve in the next few months and once those missing catchup services are added this TV will represent very good value for money - a huge screen with great picture quality.
Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks good, Quiet, Stunning 4KCons: Missing Features
