Set & Go with Zanussi! The ZEI8640XBA built in induction hob from Zanussi unleashes all the benefits of induction cooking, while looking stylish in your kitchen with its sleek black finish. Induction hobs heat the pan instead of the air around them, concentrating the heat where it should be and preventing wastage. There are 4 heating zones in varying sizes for both your small and large pan and it's got the handy Set & Go function can almost cook without your help! Simply set the time and go – the hob will switch itself off at the end of the cooking time. It’s worth noting only pans with a ferrous (magnetic) base are suitable for induction. You can’t use pans with glass and copper bases on an induction hob.
Bought this product based on the reviews of the smaller model. I have been so impressed with this induction hob I don't think I will miss gas. It aas bought as a replacement for an 80s era electric hob that boiled a saucepan of water in about 20 minutes; this induction hob boils it in about 60 seconds.
The controls are a bit fiddly and I'm still working out the nuances of which settings are best for simmering.
One word of caution: you need pans with a high iron content for the induction to work. A few of our pans have since been retired.
