Have you seen...

Here's how it's done...

  • 1

Cut out the shapes from your vinyl, if you have a cutting machine (like a Cricut) then go ahead and create the shapes in their design space, otherwise you free hand cut out 2 grey circles for the eyes, 2 long pink ear shapes, a pink nose & mouth and then 6 pink whiskers! This will make one balloon.

    step 1

  • 2

First place the two eyes onto the balloon, followed by the nose and the whiskers, making sure that everything lines up nicely.

    step 2

  • 3

Take your pink vinyl ears and stick them to the white paper, then cut around them, leaving enough of a white gap to create the ears. Next flip them over and glue a straw onto the back of each ear. This will help them support the ears and make them stand up!

    step 3

  • 4

Using your sellotape, secure the ears to the balloon. It’s best to fold a small flap at the bottom of the balloons and then use that as the base for your tape.

    step 4

  • 5

Finally, glue your faux flowers in front of the ears and secure the balloons to their sticks! My balloons were only attached to string and I found they were a little top heavy this way with the ears so a stick will help keep them sturdy!

    step 5

So there you have it! A simple and fun balloon DIY for this Easter! Be sure to reward yourself with plenty of chocolate upon completion!

My mum used to make these with me and my sister when we were little, except we used paper for the ears and drew on the bunny’s faces.
They are really fun to make.
