You’ve made your lemonade and have invited some friends for a gathering in your garden. Or maybe you’re planning something pretty yet simple for a small wedding in the midst of summer. Or maybe you’re looking to host a party for children (in which case you might want to replace all the glass items with plastic or paper for safety reasons) and want to make it a stylish affair. Whatever you’re looking to do, if you’re looking to have a lemonade stand at your party, then this might just be the right idea.

The thing is, we don’t always have the option to plan weeks in advance (considering how temperamental the British summer can be, we might sometimes have to act quickly for a garden party) or the time (or diy skills) to build some elaborate stand from scratch. This is where we need something that looks good, fits in with the garden party theme and is practical. So, I figured the vintage ladder is the perfect piece to set up a lemonade stand within the shortest time. You can find ladders like this online for anything from £20 to £90 depending on what size and finish you’re looking for. I hope you like the idea and it will help you with your party.

Here's what you'll need...

  • Ladder (preferably vintage)
  • Bunting – around 5-6 meters
  • Chalk board – small
  • Lemons, plants (like the basil from the basil lemonade) for decoration
  • Lemonade in bottles or jugs, glasses

Here's how it's done...

Ok, so I’m not going to insult your intelligence here. There’s no hard-and-fast rules for how this is done, all you need to do is…

Put the ladder up…

Lemonade Stand 5 Resized

Tie the bunting onto it…

Lemonade Stand 6 Resized

Write up your chalk sign…

Lemonade Stand 4 Resized

and “accessorise” with the lemonade and glasses…

Lemonade Stand 8 Resized

Pretty straight forward and the result is just really charming, wouldn’t you say?

Lemonade Stand 3 Resized
