One of the biggest trends of 2016 and one that is sure to continue into 2017 is bringing the outdoors in. The summer, with everything in full bloom and the canopy of green we admire when we are enjoying the weather is always the perfect inspiration for our interiors.

Today, I wanted to talk a little bit about bringing that feeling of the great outdoors, of the sunshine and the summer, into the home – specifically into your kitchen.

Are you inspired to bring all the best bits of summer into your kitchen this year? How do you bring the outdoors in? Tweet us at @AOatHome and let us know.

Great to see some homely, real kitchens. Particularly love the copper shades over the island unit. Love the sudden bold colours on white walls. Love colours that pop against muted backgrounds. Just in the process of revamping my own kitchen so will be using these ideas.
