Here's how it's done...

  • 1

Start by lining up the broom handles and securing it together with tape about six inches from the tops. You’ll need to make this tight enough so that they don’t slip, but so that you’re still able to move them slightly.

    Step two.jpg resized

  • 2

Spread the four handles to make the structure of the tipi. Make sure there is enough room for a child to sit inside.

    Step three.jpg resized

  • 3

Cut the dust sheet down slightly so that it’s easier to manage. Make sure that it’s width is a little larger than the length of the broom handles.

    Step four.jpg resized

  • 4

Wrap the dust sheet around the tipi, with the centre of the dust sheet at the back.

    Step five.jpg resized

  • 5

Use the staple gun to secure the sheet to the top of the tipi, just above the tape. You want to leave around two inches above the stables. (You can fold this excess back down to so cover the staples.)

    Step six.jpg resized

  • 6

Pull the dust sheet tight around the tipi, and down the length of one of the two front poles.

    Step seven.jpg resized

  • 7

Stable it in place and then repeat on the other side.

    Step eight.jpg resized

  • 8

Trim the excess – make sure that you leave enough material on each side to cover the ‘door’.

    Step nine.jpg resized

  • 9

Wrap some rope around the top of the material to finish it off.Step ten.jpg resized
