After you’ve purchased a product from us, we’ll get in touch to offer an AO Care Protection Policy. Or if you want to call us, you can choose to take out the policy at any time up to one month after your purchase. You can also give us a call when your manufacturer’s guarantee is a month away from expiring.
AO Care’s Protection Policy is really simple. Paid by monthly direct debit, it gives continuous protection for your appliance for as long as you need it to.
If you need to, you can cancel within 14 days of taking out the policy and you’ll get a full refund of any payments you’ve made - unless you’ve already received a replacement product. Unfortunately we can’t offer a refund if you cancel after the 14 days, and if your product’s been replaced under the policy, your AO Care Protection Policy will end automatically.
It’s worth noting that third party policies like home insurance or credit card providers might offer some of the benefits of the AO Care Protection Policy – but they might not cover accidental damage. You might also be charged an excess and any claim might mean that your insurance premium increases.

If you’ve bought a product from us and it’s faulty, you can claim a refund, repair, or replacement for up to six years - five in Scotland. If you claim after the first six months of owning your product, you‘ll have to prove that it was faulty when it was sold to you. The longer it takes for any fault to appear on your product, the more difficult this will be. For more information on this, get in touch with your local authority Trading Standards Department or Citizens Advice Bureau.
The AO Care Protection Policy is provided by Domestic & General Insurance PLC who are authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority; under Financial Services Register Number 202111 which you can view at https://register.fca.org.uk
