    Remove & Recycle

Find out everything you need to know about our Remove & Recycle service.

Our handy Remove & Recycle service does exactly what it says on the tin. We’ll come and take your old appliance away on the same day that we deliver your new one. Then, we’ll drop it off at our state-of-the-art facility to be recycled. So, not only will you be saving yourself a trip to the tip, but you’ll be doing your bit for the environment too.

Is this different from Collect & Recycle?

Yes. Remove & Recycle can only be added when you are buying a new product. We’ll then pick up your old product when we arrive. With Collect & Recycle you don’t need to buy a product in order to use the service. You can simply add the service to your basket on its own. Then we’ll pick up your appliance from your home. Both services will take your old product to our state-of-the-art recycling facility in Telford to be properly disposed of.

    Out with the old...

Treating yourself to a new model? Choose our Remove & Recycle service at the checkout and we can take your old appliance away on delivery day. No mess. No fuss. There’re just a few things you’ll need to do before we come calling:

    • Disconnect your appliance from any water, gas or mains supplies. DIY not your thing? We can take care of it for you. Find out more on our disconnection page.
    • If we’re collecting an old fridge or freezer, make sure it’s fully defrosted and free from any water.
    • If we're picking up a TV, you'll need to take it down from the wall and have all the cables disconnected.

Sadly, we can’t accept leftover snacks, drinks or takeaways, so make sure you clear those out too. We cannot recycle commercial appliances.

    ...and in with the new

Why not save yourself a job on the day and let us install your new appliance too? Add both the Remove & Recycle and installation services at the checkout and we can take care of the lot.

If you’re getting a new cooking appliance, or integrated laundry or cooling appliance installed, we’ll also disconnect the old one for you free of charge.

If it’s any other product, you’ll either need to disconnect it yourself or add the service to your basket.

You can find out everything you need to know on our handy installation page.

What will you do with my old appliance?

We’ll send it off to our state-of-the-art recycling facility in Telford. Not to brag, but it happens to be the only one of its kind in the UK.

Then it’s over to Bertha, our big, green recycling machine.

Bertha helps us recycle 700,000 fridges every year, which is around 20% of the UK total. She also takes care of any harmful gases or oils that could damage the environment.

    WEEE directive

We’re proud to be part of the government’s WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive – not as fun as it sounds, but still very important. This means that we’ll always dispose of your appliances in the most environmentally-friendly way possible.

The cost of this service goes towards safely transporting the product to our recycling plant quickly and safely. Under the WEEE regulations, recycling costs are primarily covered by the product manufacturer.

As you can see, we take our responsibilities pretty seriously. But if this hasn’t convinced you, head on over to this page to find out more.
